"Oh baby, I missed you so much!" Günter swoops down and wraps his arms around my waist, lifting me from the floor and pressing his lips to mine — and I have no fucking choice but to close my eyes and return his kiss... while Levi is still inside my place, probably even watching us.
This is so fucked up.
He pulls away from me after a minute and helps me down on the floor. "You're that surprised, eh?" Günter asks with a huge smile, looking completely clueless as to what's happening now.
And yes, I am so goddamned knocked for six and caught in the wrong foot. Holy shit. I'm not dreaming this, am I? This isn't just some movie or a song — this is really fucking happening.
I immediately scramble myself and gather my thoughts together. I scrape my throat and fake a pleasantly surprised look as I gaze up in Günter's blue eyes. "H—Hi, baby. I... I thought you weren't supposed to be back 'til next week?"
"Yeah, I wasn't, but... I was badly missing you. So I asked for a few days off, and told my team I'll just fly back to Miami on Wednesday morning." Günter explains, cupping my face and going in for a quick smooch again. "Hey, didn't you miss me?" He asks through furrowed brows.
"Yeah, I — I did. I'm sorry, I'm just... a little drunk. I was just, um, hanging out with some friends." I look down on my tiny white sundress before glancing at Levi, who was standing awkwardly in the living room. "You've — you've already met my friend Levi, right?" I finally make his presence known.
Levi waves his hand to casually and stoically greet Günter, his jaws clenched through his stiff smile. He saunters over to us and extends his arm to Günter for a handshake. "Hey, man. It's nice to see you again." Levi greets, this time in a less colder manner.
Günter takes his hand and goes for a firm handshake. "Uh, hi, yeah. Nice to see you, too." He mumbles, suddenly growing apprehensive. The air got thick real quick as the two guys stared each other down.
I can already feel the tension as I stand between Austria and USA. This is bad. My heart is hammering so loud and fast in my chest, and freaking out is a thorough understatement of what I'm feeling right now.
Holy fucking ducks. What did I just get myself into?
"Baby, Levi's just helping me clean up my place," I try for a weak excuse. Günter's not stupid. I know he's definitely thinking right now that something's up. I'm caught. Well, I didn't want to break it this way with him. I never intended to hurt him... that's the last thing I wanted to do, and I hope he has the heart and mind to believe that. "Our other friends just left, you missed them. Like, literally a good five minutes ago." I add, trying to sound more confident and convincing.
"Yeah, I'm — I was about to leave too." Levi mutters, taking a quick glance at me before fixing his green eyes back at my boyfriend.
"No, please, stay." Günter insists, an undertone of threat in his deep man-voice. "I insist. Let's have another round of drinks before you go." He smiles and walks over to the fridge to get some more bottles of beer.
Shit. I have to stop all of this before everything gets way more out of control. "Um, baby, I think Levi's had too much to drink already. He's still driving back to—"
"Sit down, bro." Günter interrupts and doesn't pay me any attention.
I turn my gaze to Levi and see his jaws clenched tight. Günter is clearly provoking him, and I know he's trying with all his might not to whack the shit out of my boyfriend's pretty face. And while Günter is four years younger than Levi, his Herculean build can definitely knock Levi straight down on the dust.
