"She's cute"

---

Vien woke up very early as usual, so that she wouldn't bump into anyone in the kitchen or the rest room. She got changed quickly and hurried to the courtyard. But surprisingly, it wasn't full of cadets yet. Only the leaders were there

"Vien my girl!!" Hanji squealed as she waved for her to come closer

Levi glanced at her for a while before looking away "You're early"

She saluted him, replying "Well, doesn't training start at 4 am sir?"

Hanji looked surprisingly at Levi, who just rolled his eyes before walking away into the training sites. Hanji chuckled "Training starts at 6 am, but you're good"

Hanji bid goodbye to prepare for her training session, while Vien walked towards the captain who was ordering people around the site. "Do I head back to my quarters Captain?" Vien questioned him

"No." He simply replied "You came at 4 am so that's plus 2 hours of training. Considering you're a new recruit, that shouldn't be a problem based on your lack of experience"

That was embarrassing Vien thought, "Lack of experience?"

He took out a parchment, "Do you think we walk on foot outside the walls? Horse riding, 3DMG, and the usage of weapons is crucial. Now what do you think you'll be doing?"

"Outside... the walls?"

"You heard Erwin, there's an expedition next week. And you're coming along with our team. I won't let you go out empty-handed" Levi answered

She nodded in response

Just now, a soldier approached Levi with a horse. Her eyes lit up when she saw it, watching Levi take it from him. When he left, the Captain took out a set of 3DGM gear and held it up to her eye level

"I'm certain you're familiar of this and it's uses." He explained "But since you're a medic, fighting a titan isn't necessary as the rest of the squad will handle them. All you need is the ability to provide them with immediate aid when possible"

Then he slowly stepped away from the horse. It's breed was literally huge, just like those of the soldiers. The horses in her village weren't close to the sizes of these, so she was beyond fascinated by them

Levi crossed his arms, still dull as ever with his words "I asked them for the tallest horse in the stables to practice your speed in mounting them during battle. Most trainees take more than 10 minutes with that horse so don't stop if you can't"

Vien tried tipping on her toes but it was still too high to reach. The Captain was watching her actions so she kept thinking of another alternative. When she thought of one, she inhaled before placing both of her arms on the saddle

"Going leg first with that type of horse won't help a bit" He scoffs

Vien used her arm as a support before she brought her feet up in the air swiftly, moving over her head before she landed on the saddle perfectly. Luckily the horse didn't jolt or else she could've fell

Levi stopped talking, when he didn't expect a doctor to be skilled in any kind of flips or reflex. He stated "Tch, not bad. Now ride around the trees without falling"

She rapidly took off with her horse. Once again the captain wasn't expecting her to be skilled in horse riding too. He watched her methods carefully and the way she controlled directions and the speed clearly showed her experience in it
