The Military Police flick their heads up to her direction, and before he fired, Vien shot his weapon a few inches away from his hand. Both of them were barely able react to the gun falling out from his grasp, when Levi and Mikasa came from above them
Both of them were unable to move, with blades ready to slit their throats if they budged a single inch
"That's right" Levi spoke in a deep voice "Give your weapons to him"
"My bad, I couldn't contain myself"
"What a way to be quiet, right Dr. Vien?" Connie sarcastically said
Vien jumped down from the tree branches, muffling in her laughter when she saw the guy up close. When they hand over their guns to Armin, she leaned closer to his face
"Shh" She placed a finger over her lips "Not a word, right sweetheart?"
Levi pulled the guy's face away from hers, and brought them to their knees at the river bank. When he instructed some cadets to take their capes and gear off, Vien positioned herself for lookout on the branches, watching from afar
Soon enough, the both of them began talking. Unlike the lady who was talking back by anger, the bowl cut guy was trying to convince the Captain. Levi eyed him weirdly, and dismissed it like he was unimpressed by his speech
"What's his deal" He muttered, then left the guy dumbfounded
Levi instructed a cadet to tie them up nearby. After mumbling something to Jean, he approached the tree Vien was sitting on. She used her gear to jump down, and began walking by his side. They both were the only ones far ahead
"I'm jealous" He bluntly stated
Vien raised a brow at him "What?"
"You call strangers sweetheart so easily yet you find it hard to call me that way?" Levi turned to her
She was dumbfounded for a moment, but she eventually understood what the reference was
Vien talked back "It's normal for me to address strangers that way"
"Ah, so that mushroom head is a sweetheart but I'm not?" He scoffs
The topic was clearly based on his personal feelings, but the serious and typical look in his face was funny to her. It looked like he was actually bothered on the fact that she wouldn't call him anything but his name "Isn't that unfair, angel?"
"Fine, if you insist" A smirk curved on Vien's lips as she walked closer
Levi stood still when she rested her arms on his shoulder, and she began whispering lowly to his ear
His eyes widen as the word left her lips. When she pulled away, Levi's face flushed red in embarrassment. It was unlikely to see this side of him, she never knew a single word could fluster the man to his extent. Vien was already examining his facial expression, though Levi was still frozen on spot, unable to move
"What was that? Weren't you babbling about pet names just now?" Vien shot a subtle grin
"I-I" Levi could barely even speak a word, his fingers pressed his temples as he tried hiding his face
She watched his flustered actions in amusement, it was almost the cutest thing she ever saw. Levi would look away when she tilted her head, his hand still held his forehead, and it was as if he kept repeating that word inside his head
"Hm? You thought my dictionary is limited to rainbows and sunshine?"
Levi glanced away "Shut it brat. We're falling behind at this rate"
