"Look who came last" Levi was leaning on the stables, as he watched the girl skip towards him

"Mikasa and Sasha were braiding my hair since I didn't know how"

Vien halted in front of him, and pecked lightly on his left cheek

"You could've asked me" He spoke

Vien's eyes widen, "You know how to braid? Why didn't you say so?"

"I don't have a single clue on how they work, but I can try sometime"

A small nod was all Vien sent in response, so she walked over to Levi's horse and mounted it. He raised a brow, "That's my horse"

"I knew you were going to ask me to ride with you anyways" She faintly smiled at him, and waited

A small smirk appeared on Levi's face. He mounted the horse, sitting right in front of her. Vien's arms snaked around his waist as she rested her head on his shoulder. Levi averted, and pecked her lips

"You read my mind so damn well"

Vien stayed in the same position when Levi's horse began dashing away. He didn't know where Vien's directions were leading to, but he just followed them anyway. Their route passed near the safe forests, and half an hour has gone since the last village seen. So Levi could tell that they were in a remote area

"Stop here" Vien gestured him

Levi pulled the reins to a stop, and she jumped down the horse. He tied the horse's gear somewhere near before approaching the girl

"You wanted to go mountain hiking?" Levi crossed his arms

Vien shook her head, and began glancing around the forest until she found a familiar path. Holding his wrist, she skipped through the path and ignored Levi's questions

When they reached a dead end, Levi thought she went the wrong way, but Vien moved the hanging vines away. Turns out, it was covering a worn out door whose handle was broken. He widen his eyes a bit when she kicked it open

Levi followed her inside, and his eyes glisten in awe when it led to a wide range of grass fields. It was an abandoned farm land right behind the hill, but the trees were still lush green, the flowers bloomed, and there were even cats near the trees

"It's beautiful right? This was the farthest I'd go from home just to read books in silence" Vien walked further into the lush grasslands

"I never knew this place existed"

She averted her gaze to him, and smiled widely at his speechless expression. His face was still dull, but she could clearly tell that he was shocked at the huge scenery

"Here" Vien pulled him out of the tall grass fields, and stayed under the tree's shadows where the grass didn't reach their ankles. It was one of the few spots were the rays of sunlight didn't touch their skins

Levi sat down on the grass, and Vien was about to sit beside him when he pulled her to his lap "The grass might be too sharp for you"

"A horrible excuse but okay" She chuckled, and leaned against his shoulder. Levi's hands wrapped around her waist and they easily became comfortable in the position

"It feels like a dream" Levi spoke

Vien stared at him, like she was gesturing him to continue talking

"My life has always been about duty and fighting. I never imagined myself being able to rest at least once in my life. Like I had no right to feel relief after all that I've done"
