"Having fun are we, doctor?"

---

Vien spent the rest of the day isolated alone in her room. Her bandaid was too obvious that it embarrassed her, if someone would have a glimpse of it

I am a medic and they'd certainly think I should know what situations would lead me to danger. If only I waited for a bit more I could've avoided it. My fear got the better of me She screamed at her pillow

"That blunt faced jerk would only stare at me and I'd feel embarrassed already" She mutters

Vien took a glimpse of the time and frowned 5:55. It was 5 minutes before she'd face the Captain again

She fixed her hair and prepared all the files, then she decided to wear a mask. Perfect, that'll cover it She wore it before rushing to the office

Vien knocked on it and stated her name before he would ask. "Come in" Levi stated as she then entered

She saluted him the usual way, and when he noticed a change in her voice, he looked up and noticed the mask. "You can take that mask off"

"Well" Vien faked a cough "I've developed a cold just now so-"

"I already saw the scratch. Hiding it makes no sense" He continued

Vien sighed in defeat, taking it off

"Does it still hurt?"

"It's perfectly fine Captain. Now to your case, what time did you sleep last night" She took out his folders

"Early"

"Did you sleep as soon as I left?"

".....Yes"

She sensed the hesitation from him and started looking around again. The Captain squinted his eyes as he watched "Oi, what are you up to?"

Vien ignored him, walking around the room. She noticed a small cloth below the shelves that wasn't there before. When she unraveled it, she saw two empty cups stacked. As she brought it over to his desk, she heard that annoyed tch of his again

Levi rolled his eyes "I got extra papers so I had no other choice"

"Captain what happened to the tea agenda? It may seem inconvenient at first but can't you at least trust me on this one?" She subtly frowns

He gazed out the window and sighed, Vien thought he probably didn't want to make eye contact

"Fine"

"Captain, can you look at me?"

Levi averted his gaze to her raising a brow. When he was looking at her, she started examining his face. But it wasn't clear in this distance

She gestured "Come closer"

"What are you doing again?"

Vien didn't reply, but continued examining him further so he sighed before leaning in further

She grabbed his face slowly by the chin and position it a bit higher. He widen his eyes at the gesture, and Vien knew he was going to complain so she said "Close your eyes, I can't get a full glimpse of it"

Vien tried looking closer, but him talking was much of a hassle. She shushed him by placing a finger over her mouth. Then he actually did, What a whiny jerk. She told him to close his eyes once again, and when he did, she finally saw it

She sighed and let go of his face, and proceeded to write something down. All she heard was him cracking his neck by stretching it, after that he looked at her in a weird way "What was that, brat?"

Vien continued writing as she replied, "I thought your eye circles didn't seem so serious first glance. But I didn't know how bad it'd be when you closed both of your eyes"

"Don't you know how too much of these can affect you Captain Levi?"

"Do I look like a doctor to you?"

Vien internally rolled her eyes

"Fine" She smiled "Simple words, these can weaken your eye muscles if not taken seriously, sir"

He rolled his eyes "Doesn't look like it does. There's no difference here"

"Surely you recall the expedition next week. It's my duty to make sure you get enough rest till then"

This brat's too determined in her duty that my intended stubbornness didn't stop her. Damn it Levi sighed

"What makes you so confident?"

She replied, "Well it's time for me to go. But I'm sure you'd stay all night up, which is why I'll stay to help you with your paperwork"

"But," Vien said "Since I'll take 75% of your paperwork, I might trouble your sleep. So I'm asking for your permission to do it in my quarters"

Levi glanced at her "I'll allow that, but when'll you bring them back?"

"You wake up at 4, so I'll be outside your office by then" Vien reassures

"Tch. Dismissed"

She took more than half of Levi's paperwork and carried it with her files before she prepared to exit

Vien organized all the paperwork and saluted him. After another long day, she went back to her room and prepared for another day of training and doctor duties

---

Vien's POV

I woke up at 3am, most likely because I fell asleep the moment I finished the Captain's paperwork in 3 hours. During medical school, I had new mountains of paperwork to do every week so I was used to doing this. I couldn't deny how much it stressed me but that was the least I could do for the Captain

My routine finished quickly so I went to the hall for early breakfast. Only a few cadets were there, but I saw Aaron sitting with the other medics so I skipped towards them

"Hi Aaron, do you mind?"

They all avert their gazes to me, then Aaron beamed at me "Vien it's you! Of course you can sit with us"

I giggled and sat beside him, then I shot a smile at the two doctors. "This is Vien, the medic under Captain Levi" Aaron introduced

They gawked at me, the first one replied "Really? You're working under the Lance Corporal Levi?"

"Yes! What are your names?"

"I'm Eric, I work under Squad Leader Mike Zacharius" The bubbly, energetic one introduced

The next one looked quiet and arid, "I'm in Squad 3, name's Francisco"

We talked about hobbies, interests and exchanged knowledge about medical topics. Before Eric seemed to be interested about the Captain

"What's working under Lance Corporal like? Is he as cold as other people describe him?" Eric asked

I sighed, "Well he is without a doubt either emotionless or very moody. He's just very unreadable"

"He's humanity's strongest right? That's what he's called" He looked at me, as if I knew all about him

"That's what people call him, but I don't really think about that. He is after all shorter than me" I chuckle

But no one responded after that, I glanced at them "What? I really was a few inches taller than him"

All of them had their head hung low, and Aaron nudged me by the shoulder. I expected him to talk but he still didn't, so did Eric and Francisco. What was going on?

Someone spoke behind me

"Having fun are we, doctor?"

I immediately recognized the deep voice. I already knew at that very moment, I just dug my own grave
