"Tie him up on that tree. We'll wait for nightfall until we can interrogate him" Levi ordered

After watching the cadets follow his orders, he walked towards Armin who was tending to Vien

Even if an hour has passed, blood still dripped from her cuts despite being wiped off several times. When Armin sensed the Captain sitting beside them, he gave the white cloth to him and slowly lifted her head towards his left shoulder

"She hit her head too hard, I think she has a bad concussion, Captain"

He uttered "Stay with them and switch lookouts for the meantime, we'll get back to work in an hour"

Armin saluted briefly, as he left their side. The Captain watched him approach the cadets before averting his gaze to Vien. He attempted to wake her up by calling her name, but she was too feeble to regain her consciousness

The only response she gave was a few more blood drips, which made Levi scoff. He carefully dabbed the cloth on her lips and tucked a few strands to show Vien's face clearly

Levi gave up on waking her after a few tries, and sighed to himself. He wrapped his hand around her waist, then gently buried her face on his neck. The placid atmosphere with her alone was comforting him. When he turned to Vien, he planted a light kiss on her forehead

"Didn't I instruct you not to go by yourself? You scared the living shit out of me" Levi quietly scolded her

"I guess you really hurt your head bad that you can't even hear me. But it gives me a chance to talk to you about my thoughts without being flustered. Don't listen okay?"

Levi pauses, glancing at her to make sure she wasn't hearing anything. Then exhaled deeply

"I remember everything you said about living a peaceful life, and how you wanted to have that. But with things as complicated as it is now, it seems nearly impossible. Doesn't it angel?" A small frown formed as he spoke out his mind

"And because of wanting to have that, you suffered so much for the past year. It pains me to see you like this over and over again. How can you be so clumsy to get hurt?"

His hand began soothing her hair gently, as he stared into the sunset

"You have a bad habit of charging into dangerous situations all alone, I give you that. That's why you get all the pain to yourself, dumb ass" Levi scoffed quietly "But I'm telling you this because I want you to beg, ask me for help at least once. If you finally do, I still can't promise it'll be any easier, because it's still gonna be difficult for the two of us to get through this shitty hell hole"

"I'm not saying any cliche shit like we both have each other, but that's pretty much what I'm trying to say"

Her slow breaths on his neck was tingling his body, though he didn't pay much attention as he was already used to that sensation

Levi resumed "But I made you a promise didn't I? I said that I won't stop fighting until you'd live that way again. You're not even awake, so I could finally tell you that I'm willing to sacrifice my life for that cause. Anything for you my angel"

Levi chuckled under his breath

"My angel, huh. It still leaves me starstruck to this day on how much I love you, because believe me when I say every little about you makes me fall for you more. We've only been together for a year, but you managed to grip me during that time. You made me realize so much things about life, including my value as a human being. You got me the point where I would devote my entire self to you only"

"That's why, once all of this is over, I promise" Levi brings her hand up, gazing deeply at her sleeping face

"We'll have all the time in the world. Just you and me alone"
