Chapter 45 - Shirt

"Eyes up front"

Her eyes squinted at the man who called her name, only then she realized who she was about kill

The knife dropped from her hands as she gasped "Levi? What are yo-"

He didn't give her a chance to finish her sentence when she was pulled closer to his chest. Levi grasped the back of her shirt tightly, and all she heard was his exhausted breaths against her ear

"Are you okay?" His voice was quivering, and it was unusual

"I should ask you that, why are y-"

In a brisk manner, Levi held her face and searched for any wounds. After hearing from Kenny himself that Dr. Vien was being held by his men, he couldn't contain himself when she showed in front of him. His eyes open wide when it caught stains of blood on her shirt's collar

She looked away "It isn't my blood"

"So you killed someone?"

"Uh, sorry. I had to" Vien mumbled

Levi's worried expression faded, and a smirk formed as he ruffled her hair "Then I'm proud of you"

She stood up, scoffing "Now's not the time for that. Where's my bag?"

"Shit.... it's with the gloomy brat" Levi responded "Wait, then how were you able to kill all those people without your 3DM gear?"

Taking out a weapon from her bag, she showed it to him. Levi had a look of shock when he recognized it as one of Kenny's weapons. He already figured out where she got it, so he quickly gave it back to her

"Good. Use it for the meantime, we need to catch up with the wagon"

Before she was able to even ask him about it, Levi took off with his gear. Vien didn't know anything about the situation, but she eventually followed from behind

She yelled "Who are we chasing? Don't tell me Eren and Historia-"

"That wagon, we'll go after them"

A gasp fell out when Vien spot two unconscious cadets on the wagon. It turns out they were being abducted by the group who held her captive. But the loud yells of cadets nearby took her attention

"Dr. Vien where the hell have you been?" Jean spoke, as the others were already flying beside them

"We'll talk about that later. Chase the wagon, Vien and I will cover for you" Levi stated in an official voice "If you get the chance, kill"

The two of them rush forward and aimed for the wagon. Only three enemies on the wagon, and Levi got rid of one using his 3DM gear

When he signalled Jean and Armin to take control of the wagon, Vien swung in faster and landed on the guy's shoulders. Both of them scuffled on the moving wagon, causing the gun to fall from his hand. Vien took the chance and twisted his neck to its extent. Finally the man stopped moving when he met immediate death

"Armin! Jean! Get over here" Vien called as she shot her hook before jumping out of the moving wagon

Levi rushed to her side, ordering

"You and Mikasa guard the back"

Falling behind, she stayed behind Mikasa and left the rest of them to take care of the wagon. Vien began dealing with the rest, but there were more of them in the opposite direction going after the wagon

Vien immediately followed after them, but their gang was able to drive the wagon out of the gate before even retrieving the cadets
