Chapter 18 - Mad

Vien's POV

While silently following Levi back to the office, I didn't know what to feel. I understand he did it for Eren's good, but he must've took it too far considering the number of wounds plastered all over his body. Levi could've even damaged his nervous system from the impact

"Tch, little brother my ass"

Levi muttered, but it was enough for me to hear. I understood his reference so I rolled my eyes subtly

When Levi closed his office door before I could enter, I assumed he was in a grumpy mood. Being the patient doctor I was with him, I sighed deeply before opening the door again. After entering, he was seated on his chair and refused to make eye contact as he spoke

"Sit."

I didn't speak or anything, but just followed whatever he would say

"How do you feel?" He asked

I spoke calmly "I'm fine sir"

"Does your shoulder still hurt?"

"Since you took Eren in custody, an expedition will occur. I'll be unable to go because of my injury but I'll finish all the paperwork"

"You're right, this expedition is important because-" I cut him off

I smiled faintly, "Understood sir. But if you have nothing else to say, may I be dismissed early? I have something to do, but I'll be sure to attend to you as soon as possible"

Levi looked at me, "I'm not done. I want to rest, so do my paperwork"

"Yes Captain" I took most of the papers from the desk and asked

"Will I do it in my quarters?"

"No. You're probably not in your right state yet so I need to make sure you don't mess up my papers"

Great, I won't be able to check on Eren. I suppose Aaron would be helping him right now so I should calm down I thought to myself, and exhaled deeply to keep my cool

Vien used her left hand to write, and began to work in front of Levi who closed his eyes on his chair

It's only been half an hour, but Levi already heard papers being stacked so he opened his eyes. He noticed that she had already finished his work in 30 minutes

"Sorry to wake you Captain" Vien spoke without a single eye contact

Levi immediately noticed that Vien would stop smiling and chuckling at the end of her sentences, which was something he wasn't used to

I guess she was really upset about that brat's wounds Levi thought

He spoke bluntly "It looks like you're in a hurry, what is it?"

"I read in one of your papers that the 104th cadets will join the expedition tomorrow, I plan to check up on them before that" She replied with the same tone of voice

"Make sure that Eren will be able to manage too" Levi looked away

Vien faked a smile before finalizing the papers on his desk "I'll stay with them till midnight, so tending to Eren wouldn't be a problem"

"....Dismissed" Levi closed his eyes, and leaned back on his chair

Vien saluted him, before rushing out of the room. The Captain glanced at her figure when she turned around to leave, and sighed when the door closed behind her

"What was that Levi?" Hanji asked, as she entered the room the moment the doctor left the office

He spoke, "What?"

"Vienny seems to be in a bad mood, she didn't even smile when she passed by me. She came from your office so I thought I should ask you"

"It's none of your business Hanji"

"I'm just curious, that's so very unlike Dr. Vien don't you think?"

Levi glanced at Hanji, "What's her relationship with that Eren brat?"

Hanji seemed distracted from the topic, as she chuckled "I'm not sure either, but Vien's attachment to him makes me think they've grown close when she was at the east training camps for three weeks"

After, Levi didn't reply so she grew a suspicion which made her grin

"Is she perhaps mad after hearing about what you did that Eren kid?"

Levi rolled his eyes "I don't know, didn't she mention all that little brother crap in front of his face"

"But about 3 days ago," Hanji began talking seriously "Does she know what happened about the titan?"

"No. She won't, and even if she did, she'd doubt that happened because she managed to make it out alive"

She smirked, "Because you hurried over to her right? Seems like you were a bit worried over someone"

Levi glared and spoke bluntly, "It was an act of concern over a trusted comrade, now get out"
