Chapter 12 - Where is she?

"She'll be back in a month"

It was 1pm noon when the Special Ops squad arrived in headquarters after successfully evacuating several villages from their wrecked homes in the mountains. The other squad leaders and Erwin, was waiting for them near the gates

The gate closed after horses rushed inside. Hanji beams loudly because she didn't contain her excitement when they arrived "They're finally here after 1 month! I'm so excited to hear all about their expedition"

All their horses halted in front of them, and they all saluted Erwin when they went down. Most of them were covered in blood, filth, and scratches so Erwin instructed the three medics to assist them

Levi stared at Aaron weirdly when he cleansed his scratch, he looked around and saw that the girl doctor was nowhere near to be found

"Oi Erwin, where's the other medical brat?" He spoke bluntly

His other squad members looked around the area and also realized she wasn't with the other medics

"I sent her to assist in the southern training grounds. Hanji agreed to let him substitute while she's gone"

He resumed "Anyways, how was-"

Levi interrupted him calmly "How long is Dr. Vien staying there for?"

Hanji laughed, "She'll be back roughly in a month so Aaron can manage to assist us until then"

"I see" Levi eyed Aaron in a not-so-friendly way "Well I'm going to my office so I want to be alone"

Hanji held in her chuckles till Levi left the open grounds "Did the filth as usual make him so grumpy?"

Eld Jinn watched Levi leave, he shrugged "The Captain was trying to come back as soon as possible just yesterday. He didn't mind it as long as he could leave, but now it seemed to put him in a bad mood"

Levi immediately cleaned himself the moment he arrived, and went to his office. He sat down on his chair, and closed his eyes to rest for awhile. Since he lacked sleep for two days just to get the job done

He opened his eyes to make tea, but his eyes fell on a piece of paper that was inserted between his already answered paperwork

First, Levi scanned his paperwork and immediately recognized the owner of the handwriting. He then took the paper and read it quietly

Hi Captainnnn! I'm sorry if I entered your office without your permission, but since I was leaving for a bit, no one would've been able to do your work so I finished them all thinking you'd be exhausted. I finished 5 days worth of work for you so you can sleep as soon as you finish training cadets. Aaron also promised to take my place while I'm gone so I left the place with a light heart. Take care and please stick to the tea schedule, okay? See you in a month, Levi :D

from Dr. Vien Smith

"That medical brat's completely unbelievable" Levi scoffed, then averted his gaze to the stack of paperwork Vien finished in a night

She even put a little smiley in the end, she's like a kid Levi thought as he could see her smile in his head

Levi took a piece of duct tape and used it to paste the paper on his desk's decoration. Then drank a cup of tea before going out to train the 'annoying' cadets to pass time

"Oi Hanji" Mike called her

Hanji looked up from munching her dinner, she mumbled "What?"

He pushed a tray with black tea on the side, then she immediately knew it was for the Captain. She took a look around and noticed that he didn't go outside for dinner

Hanji hurried eating and Mike watched in disbelief "Look at you"

After eating, she picked up the tray and carried it to his office. Hanji used her foot to knock at the door

"Your name and business"

"It's Hanji!!" "Come in"

Levi didn't glance at her as she entered, she expected him to do paperwork but he was leaning on his chair with his eyes closed

She placed the tray down and sat down in front of his desk "Eat up"

"I want to rest, leave me alone"

"Mike even made your one true love black tea, won't you drink it?"

Levi ignored it "I'm trying to sleep"

Hanji gave up chuckling, and then she suddenly noticed a paper with familiar hand writing, she gasped as she leaned in "Ooo what's this?"

Hanji was about to take the piece until Levi snatched the paper away, he put it inside his pocket, glaring at her "Don't you touch anything"

"Geez sorry" Hanji playfully said "I just found the handwriting kinda familiar so I took a look, what was that? It must've been important considering you placed it there"

"List of those I scolded awhile ago"

Hanji stretched her arms "That was a long list, not surprising. Anyways, I'll leave you alone now!"

After accidentally bumping into the wall, Hanji left the office and Levi finally got his peace back

Levi finished the tea quickly, and ate a fair few spoonfuls before trying to fall asleep on his chair
