"What a gentleman"

---

"Here we are, Ehrmich District"

Vien, Levi, and Nick were last to leave the wagon, so they were behind Hanji and the rest. Since Vien didn't wait for the bickers of the Pastor and the Captain to finish, she went ahead and finally stopped walking in the sides of a long crowd full of villagers who lost their houses from the titans

While slowly scanning the visages of the people that clearly exuded sorrow and loss, it could only make her frown. When only the pastor appeared behind her, she turned to him with a roiled look and chided

"Do you see what this faith of yours did? Perhaps you could tell me your secret to staying sane and calm after all of this happened"

The pastor glared back at her and half-yelled "Are you insulting me?"

"I was just asking, but if you meant to take offense from it then I'll do it again" She wore a sinister smile

Her harsh glare, and the fact that someone he assumed was young talked to him like that, resulted him to be offended. He growled and was about to lunge at her, until he almost fell to his knees instead

Levi approached from behind, and kicked his back before he was able to grab her. She stared at the priest weirdly then turned to the Captain, who was eyeing Nick repulsively

He kicked him again to bring him up to his knees "Oi, get up if you don't want to get lost in the crowd"

The pastor slowly stood up, and glared at Vien before following what the Captain told him . After he began walking, Levi turned to her with a calmer expression

"What are you waiting for? Should I tell you the same?" He chided

Vien spoke "Will you kick me too?"

"Should I?"

"Do it then"

The Captain eyed at her weirdly, and tch-ed again as he left her boringly. Vien had no choice but to follow after teasing him, even though she didn't really expect to be feisty for once. But she didn't really regret it, after seeing his weary face, she succeeded in her attempt of annoying him. Since she was always the one getting embarrassed, doing things he'd not expect would feed her little pride

"Captain where are we going?" She asked as she caught up to his pace

He didn't bother to glance "To give instructions to Hanji and your trio of brats before they start moving"

"Can I stay behind? I can be in charge of watching over Nick"

She heard a Tch escape his mouth

"Are you planning to beat the pastor up when you get a chance?"

"I wouldn't do that to him, Levi"

He glanced at her for a short while with a raised brow "Didn't you talk about mangling him an hour ago?"

"Mr. pastor was reminding me of those kids who'd call me kid back then, and it wasn't because I was young. It was because I was small and weak compared to Erwin. That's why it made my blood boil"

"Surely he'll be making your blood boil if you stick around him, I won't be responsible if anything gets out of hand" Levi sternly said

Vien concluded "I'll just make sure that he won't run away Captain"

"Why won't you go with Hanji?"

He seemed sleepy earlier but he's kind of talkative now. I shouldn't take it for granted Vien giggled

"Tch" He muttered "You have to stop giggling out of nowhere, it's like you've started to go insane"

Looking down on her feet whilst walking, she smiled "I just noticed you're more talkative than usual"

"You still haven't answered my question, Vien" He cut her off

Her smile faded, she immediately replied "Oh, I wouldn't have to go with Hanji anymore because-"

"No." He interrupted "I was talking about the question I asked before"

It became a few seconds of silence, as Vien was busy trying to recall. Only the sounds of the villagers' complaints were heard thus he was annoyed, so he just gave it away

"I asked how have you been, brat"

"Ohhh, I was always the same as usual Captain. Why do you ask?"

Levi scoffed, "Is locking yourself up in your room the new usual then?"

She didn't reply out of embarrassment, so he continued

"Don't do it again, everyone else was worried about you" He sighed

Vien smirked to his eye level and smiled sarcastically "So, you too?"

Levi rolled his eyes and scoffed "I actually took it as a month-off from this noisy, and annoying medical-"

"Brat" Vien interrupted, like she already knew what he was saying

After hearing her mimic his dull tone, Levi's lips curve a little but it disappeared too quickly. But she was too busy annoying him that she didn't notice his expression

It was all laugh and jokes until a serious look appears on his face

"I'm sorry"

Vien's eyes widen a little when she turns her head "Sorry for what?"

"For yelling at your face back then"

She looks away "Why should you say sorry for that? I mean, it's my fault for being the mindless idiot"

"The thought of raising my voice at you was bothering me too much"

Levi spoke under his breath, so she couldn't make up what he stated

"What was that?" Vien asked him

The bluntness of his tone came back, he rolled his eyes "Nothing"

He passed by her while hitting his shoulder against hers, and proceeded to walk in a faster pace

She scoffed "What a gentleman"

Vien pretended to kick Levi from behind as she hesitantly continued to follow his tracks. She realized they spent too much time talking that Nick would've arrived by now
