"Watch where you're looking
next time, weirdo"

---

Vien was terrified yet shocked at the same time, the whole lot of them were busy taking titans down that she couldn't find her brother nor Levi anywhere. But when a titan fell on the ground, her eyes widen when she saw a bloody soldier on the branch not too high

"Aaron listen" She called "There's a fallen soldier in those trees. I'll get him down using my horse and you bring him to the supplies wagon"

"Let's hurry" He nodded

Vien mounted her horse and held the reins. Then she charged to the west area where the soldier was yelping in pain, a titan has bit the wrist off and his legs were helpless

Vien slowly stood on the saddle, keeping a hand on the rein. When she became closer, she took him by his waist and turned by pulling the reins together. Aaron ran from behind and Vien passed the soldier down, since the galloping horse would only worsen his leg fracture

Vien then watched Aaron bring the soldier down the wagon, and didn't notice that she was under direct sunlight. It became dark, and when she looked up, there was a tall titan staring down at her. She hurriedly started the horse but it already had a grip on her. Then brought her up

Vien gasped whilst uncontrollably shaking. She didn't know how to react now that she was in a titan's grasp, one step closer to being food

"Vien!" Erwin's yell was heard by her, but her eyes couldn't leave the titan's stare. So amazing up close

The moment Erwin screamed out her name, Levi darted his head up after finishing off a titan. He quickly scanned the group of titans and widen his eyes, seeing Vien utterly speechless in front of a titan

"That damn brat, how could she have time to be fascinated right now" Levi grunted in disbelief

Before Erwin could reach it, Levi used his gear and rapidly flew to the titan despite using too much gas. He took two of his sharpest blades and sliced deeply through it's nape, it was too deep that its blood splattered on Levi's face

Vien immediately came back to her senses, and darted her 3DM gear on the branches to stop her from falling. She didn't fall, but she hung upside down instead. Levi jumped down and approached, she smiled

"Are you insane? What happened to staying behind" Levi scolded her

"One of Hanji's soldiers got injured, I had to. He was losing blood fast"

He suddenly had an angry expression on his face, "Did that Aaron make you go by yourself?"

"He didn't Captain, I was the one"

Levi's face softened, but his voice still had a tone of anger "Hanji's squad is his responsibility. And you could've got killed because of that"

Vien smiled "But I'm still alive"

He sighed, "Tch. Show a little remorse for that would you?"

Levi's eyes trailed up, and then his eyes quickly flick back down "I see that you wore a skirt today, Doctor"

Vien hurriedly held it up, and scoffed back "I'm wearing shorts!"

She stared at him "Watch where you're looking next time, weirdo"

Levi glared at her sternly and bickered back "Is that how you talk to your Captain who saved your life? You're really unbelievable"

He rolls his eyes, and tch-ed under his breath before walking away

Vien yelled "Fine I'm sorry just help me get down here!! Hello??"

Levi stopped walking, and glanced at her. He didn't show any emotion outside but he was amused at the sight of Vien yelling upside down. He simply shrugged and went back to the busy battlefield, leaving her

Hanji rushed to Vien, and glared at Levi "Hm, that mean shorty left his comrade hanging. I'll give him a lecture when we head back, but go and help Aaron back at the wagon"

Hanji quickly helped Vien get her feet back on the ground, and ran back to finish another titan. Vien rushed to Aaron, where two other soldiers were injured and in pain

"Vien! You take the other one, I couldn't stop his bleeding" His breath was already running out

Vien hurriedly went on the wagon, and checked the pulse on the soldier's wrist. Then examined his limbs, his right leg was bit open. It was too big that a cloth wouldn't cease the simultaneous bleeding

Vien took the aid kit, and wore gloves. The soldier was about to lose conscience, so she spoke to him "I'm going to inject you to lessen the pain, I will stitch up your wound right now so please bear with me. And stay awake"

It was a young man. And he was struggling to nod. Vien wiped the tear off his cheek and got the tools

"Vien," Erwin called. She looked to her left and saw her brother approach their medical wagon

Erwin gawked "Vien, you can't do all this right here. Stitching his wound will take an hour, and we should leave in a few minutes"

Vien didn't bother making eye contact, as she hurriedly cleansed his wound. Then preparing the needle for stitching, "He won't make it if we wait any longer. I can finish this in less than 10 minutes"

"W-will I die?" The soldier's voice cracks, he was starting to lose hope

Vien pats his head in a reassuring manner, and smiles "I won't let that happen sweetheart, so close your eyes okay? This'll sting a bit"

She hurriedly went to work, and began stitching the wound quickly, but precisely. Erwin didn't argue with her, because he trusted Vien

By the time the leaders successfully captured a titan in 12 minutes, Vien also finished stitching up his wound. She bandaged the wound, and saw the soldier tearing up

Vien frowned "Hey, what's wrong? I already finished it so you're safe"

"I-I just.... thought I was going to die. I was about to fall asleep the moment you arrived in the wagon"

She asked, "How old are you?"

"21" His voice cracked

"See, you're young. You still have a lot to accomplish in life so you shouldn't lose hope just like that"

The boy slowly looked up, and smiled genuinely "Thank you so much, doctor. I owe you so much"

Vien couldn't help but smile. This is why she loved being a doctor. To be able to see the sparkle in their eyes when they know they escaped the brink of death. He was certainly a stranger, but she found his smile beautiful and fulfilling

Vien persuaded Hanji to let the injured ride the wagon back to the walls, and she mounted the wagon to sit beside Aaron and the two patients. Vien smiled at the successfully accomplished mission and prepared for the long trip back
