"I'll have to get him out of
there by my bare hands"

---

Vien's POV

"Mr. Pixis, my comrades are risking their lives out there. Please let me go to them" I tried to convince him to let me out of the building, but he knew Erwin wouldn't let me go out

Dot spoke calmly "If Erwin would know that I'd let you go out for no reason, he'd lose trust in me"

"Erwin doesn't have to know" I mumbled, hanging my head low

Mr. Pixis smiled faintly, and left without a word. I looked around the locked room, but my head was still stinging badly. I was told that I passed out in my sleep when the quarters nearly collapsed by titans and was brought here to "recover"

Why didn't I listen to Eren? I doubted him that I didn't know the Survey Corps actually came, so that means Erwin, Levi and Hanji are here somewhere in the village

But I shouldn't worry about it, I'm sure they could easily accomplish their duty. But the cadets were on the wall when titans breached it and they could be out there, fighting for their lives while I just sit here. They, were my first priority

I groaned loudly "How could I fall so deep asleep without knowing"

After gathering strength, I looked around the room and found a barrel filled with guns and ammo. I took a 12 gauge shotgun along with as much ammo I can find in stock

Wearing a 3DMG gear, I tied my hair in a ponytail and loaded the gun full. I slowly aimed on the doorknob, and pulled the trigger. The metal blasted to bits and I was finally able to leave the room.

The hell with Erwin and his rules I squinted my eyes angrily and used the gear to find Eren and the rest

---

Half an hour has passed, and titans were still roaming around the empty village. But Vien still couldn't find her friends, except those who identified as corpses

"Pixis said the titans breached the walls 1 and a half hour ago, so that means they've been fighting for hours. They must've run out of gas"

Vien began to think hardly, of possible areas they'd stay in. If they were still alive, what would they possibly do? There were already a lot of detached body parts on the ground so many already died, they should fall back for now. If they ran out of gas, where would they go?

Seconds later, I saw the scene of a titan fighting against other titans. I then realized that they were all heading towards the HQ. My eyes lit up when I saw it, that's right. They must be refilling their gas now

I sharpened my blades filled with titan blood, and hurried to the HQ that was swarming with titans

---

At the HQ, Vien already arrived when it was empty, but the gas tanks were used and there was dull blades everywhere. She assumed they came from here recently and quickly went to where it all started

When Vien arrived on the Trost District, there she saw the cadets fighting against the group of titans. She immediately swooped down below and tended to the injured soldier. Vien was about to do it herself, but the soldier weakly held her arm and struggled to say

"I've already lost too much blood doctor, there's no chance of me surviving" He spoke weakly

Vien widen her eyes, "You can manage, just stay awake and-"

"More lives could be saved if you help the others out there. So many of us abandoned our duty that those who stayed ended up dying instead. So please, go" His voice cracked, and his grip loosened

Vien was shaking uncontrollably, she just witnessed a soldier she was close with die right in front of her. A tear trickled down her rosy cheeks as she let go of the cloth she was holding. The horrifying sight in front of her, where many known comrades were getting eaten for mere pleasure, somehow couldn't make her strong enough to stand.

Was this it? Why, am I just watching my friends get eaten? Vien gasped

Just because I couldn't save one, why did I lose all my courage to fight? All, gone, just like that? I always got mad for being called a weak and vulnerable girl my father described, but I didn't know I was until I got to experience it myself

Mina and the others, who else from the cadets could've died out there?

"ARMIN!" Vien heard the horrified yell of a boy from afar, and it was enough to snap her out of her tears

Immediately, while grasping a hold of her gear, she widen her eyes when Armin was helplessly being picked up by a titan. The sight of a beast bringing the helpless boy to the brink of death woke her up, and pushed her to charge rapidly towards them, while yelling out all the anger her guilt had built in her

Vien heard someone call her name loudly in the distance, but she only charged faster towards it. Armin was already in it's mouth, and an inch closer to death. But Armin was still pushing it's teeth open to avoid being caught inside, though he was clearly losing his strength when he was in excruciating pain

"I have no blades left, shit" Vien cursed herself "I'll have to get him out of there by my bare hands"

Using most of her gas at once, Vien yelled his name when she became closer, making Armin look at her once more. He thought she would be the last person he'd see when he stopped pushing, but she was moving towards him too fast that all he felt was a body hitting against his. She thought she could snatch him away just in time, but the titan closed its mouth shut the moment she pushed him. When he blinked, he landed harshly on the roof with a loud and painful thud

Armin mumbled, weakly calling the girl's name before passing out
