"Don't do anything stupid
and hurt yourself"

---

Vien's POV

I went inside the Mess Hall early morning after taking a shower. It was a rainy day so I tied my hair in a ponytail to avoid getting my hair in the face. And this was the Survey Corps, rain wasn't a valid excuse to skip morning training

"Over here!" Petra and Gunther waved at me to sit beside them, so I skipped over towards the table

She asked, "Oluo told us you went to the Captain's office last night around past 5. What's it about?"

Keep it a secret, as the Captain and Erwin said. Vien thought to herself before answering the question

"The commander wanted me to relay his reports urgently to the Captain so I really had no choice"

They all nodded in response, Petra chuckled "Oh and about that, the Captain asked you to his office as soon as you woke up. Eat and go"

The Captain wants to see me? If he's going to whine about his tea party schedule again then I'll be speechless. Vien sighed quietly, resuming to eat in a faster pace

After less than 5 minutes, I finished it quickly. And went off to the Captain's office after excusing myself from the squad members

I exhaled lightly before knocking the door. "Name and Business?"

"Dr. Vien Smith" "Come in"

When I opened the door, I saw him on his desk with a pile of paperwork. Doesn't he do it at night? It's just 6:30 am now. But-

"Captain, aren't you supposed to be training cadets by now?" She asked after saluting him like the usual

He didn't make eye contact "Eld is supervising them. I want you to go and assist him in the training site"

I nodded "Understood sir"

About to leave, I took a turn for the door but he spoke again. Making me halt tracks "I haven't dismissed you yet Doctor. Get back here now"

Great. Did I do something wrong? I knocked before coming in, I saluted him, what did I do? I bit my lip before turning back to him calmly

He glanced at the window, then averting his eyes to mine. His voice was less stern than before when he spoke "It's very muddy and slippery at the grounds. Don't do anything stupid and hurt yourself"

"Dismissed" He simply continues

I stood there, shaken by his sudden sincere expression. Levi looked away and continued doing his paperwork, I was too fazed that I almost forgot I was still in there. Before the Captain still noticed I was there, I turned around and made a run for the open doorway

Focusing on the orders, I shook off the feeling and went off to assist Eld at the grounds. I saw him supervising in the middle of the rain, so I did the same as well. Getting wet wouldn't hurt I guess

"Morning Eld!" I smiled widely, skipping towards him in the mud

He smiled back "Morning Vien, the Captain made you come didn't he?"

I chuckled, nodding to respond. Later, we both carefully watched the scouts proceeding to use their 3DMG in the trees. But they were confusing me, it was rainy, and nearly impossible to see clearly

"Eld, doesn't this seem dangerous? The scouts won't be able to see a thing in there" I asked in concern

He laughed "It's not like there are real titans in there doctor. Besides, the weather doesn't adjust during expeditions so they need to get used to it as well. Don't you think?"
