September 2013

The release of Les Miserables ended up being the 4th highest-grossing film of 2012 receiving several awards. Amelia was nominated for five awards and won one for the Spotlight Award at the Hollywood Film Festival.

Because of the film's success, Miami found Amelia a new role quickly, as Cinderella in Into the Woods. Filming starts in two weeks but right now Amelia is in Greece with Freddie for Jessica and Colin's wedding.

Amelia extended the trip on either side of the wedding into a holiday. She's never taken Freddie on a proper holiday so she decided to take the opportunity before work starts.

Freddie is now a happy, healthy two-year-old and as she thought he looks a lot like Granddad Freddie. She's grateful for it because he shows no resemblance to Michael. He's walking and running about on his own and his speech is getting better.

Turning off the alarm she set for the morning of the wedding, she lay quietly for a moment hearing Freddie's small feet padding down the hall. She rolls over as he climbs onto the bed, "Morning baby."

He kneels on the bed next to her, "Aunt Jess wed day, Mummy?" She's surprised he remembers what a wedding day is but he was at Emily's early in the year so perhaps he was more aware of what was going on then she thought.

"Yes it's Auntie Jessica's wedding day today," She glances at the clock, "But I think we have time for morning cuddles first." He grins laying on top of her so they're pressed chest to chest and she wraps her arms around him, kissing his hair.

She loves slow mornings like this, he's a very affectionate boy and loves cuddles but once the day starts he's full of energy. He loves trains and cars, to Roger's delight and he likes to sing. She tried to get him to listen to Queen music but he wasn't interested so she'll try again when he's a bit older.

Glancing at the clock again it's time to get up, "Right time to get dressed."

"No," He protests hugging her tighter.

"Yes, or the tickle monster will come for you," Amelia gives him a moment and when he doesn't move she tickles his sides making him giggle.

Gently pushing him onto the bed she hovers above him, "Oh no the tickle monster is here!" She lifts his pyjama top continuing to tickle his bare sides and blowing raspberries on to his tummy making him squeal and laugh.

She laughs with him picking him up and carries him upside-down to his room as his giggles continue.

It's very warm outside so she dresses him in a lightweight blue button shirt, dressy grey shorts and his sandals though they won't stay on his feet for long.

After getting dressed herself, in a floral summer dress she brought for the occasion, they walk downstairs for breakfast.

Jessica looked stunning in her wedding dress and the wedding was lovely, it wasn't a big wedding but it was enough for them. Amelia watched as Freddie sit shyly on his own watching the other children play.

"I have something to tell you," Rosie beams sitting next to her.

"Your pregnant?" Amelia guesses keeping her voice monotone.

The blonde blushes madly, "No!"

Amelia sighs stealing a glance at her friend before looking back at Freddie, "Shame. What's the news then?"

"I have the release date for Maleficent."

"Oh, exciting when is it? I can't wait to see it," It doesn't matter how old Amelia gets she will always love Disney.

"The 28th of May 2014."

"That's nearly a year away. I can't believe you got a Disney film with your first role and you were working with Angelina Jolie," Amelia can see why they would pick Rosie as Aurora, she has such a sunny disposition.

"I know the cast was amazing to work with," Rosie flicks her eyes between the concerned mum and Freddie, who is shy to join in with the other children, "Are you looking for a friend for Freddie? Is that why you asked if I was pregnant?"

"Yeah, I've tried taking him to the park but he's so shy. I hope he'll make some friends when he starts nursery but that isn't for another two years."

"Just keep trying. He's only just turned two, he's talking now and getting better at it every day. Maybe that will help just give him time, keep taking him and eventually he'll make friends with someone. You struggled at first didn't you?"

"Yeah, that's true." They quit that conversation when Freddie came back to his mum, climbing into Amelia's lap.

Amelia kept the remainder of their holiday busy, they went to the beach, water park and the museum.

Freddie took a big liking to the dinosaurs at the museum, she really wanted to show him, Jurassic Park, when they got home but realised it a bit scary for a two-year-old so settled for Disney's Dinosaurs instead.

Filming for Into the Woods commenced a week after they got back from their holiday and Amelia was happy to find that most of the filming locations were either 20 minutes from Roger's or half an hour from her parents.

It made life easy for Amelia as both were more than happy to look after Freddie. The soundtrack recording was done back in August so filming only took two months but it felt good to be working again.

After she finished filming Miami sent her next film role. It's for the new Pixar animated film Inside Out voicing Disgust.

The moment she heard it was Pixar she had to do it, Freddie loves Pixar films so she accepts that role for him. But filming doesn't start until early next year so she has the freedom to enjoy Christmas.

Christmas this year was a lot more exciting because Freddie is now old enough to enjoy the magic of Christmas. Christmas Eve, he went to bed super excited after leaving out a plate of cookies for Santa.

He helped Bella to make them earlier that day making a right mess, leaving them with a glass of milk and some carrots for the reindeer. Brian told the boy that it was classed as animal cruelty if he forgot to feed the reindeer.

Since she knows that he won't get out of bed in case Santa doesn't come, Amelia grabs the plate of cookies and sits down to watch some TV. She hides the carrots in a food container that she will give to Brian tomorrow, she's not going to eat them.

She was flicking through trying to find something Christmassy to watch. BBC 1 the news, skip BBC 2 a crime documentary, skip and then she stops on ITV seeing a face she hasn't seen in eleven years.

Gwilym Lee, his features have matured now he's older and he's even more good looking. Especially with the added stubble on his chin and upper lip, it suited him and by god, he is an amazing sight for sore eyes.

Checking what the program is, it's Midsomer Murders: Christmas special and it's just started so she continues to watch the entire episode. Getting hooked with the program as well as being transfixed on Gwilym.

She didn't know what to think. Thank god he's alive is a good start but his looks and voice remind her how much she's missed him and how hurt she felt when he stopped messaging her.

It doesn't make her turn over though. After it finished she set up a series link for the rest of the series and goes to bed, dreaming of the memories from 2002.

As she anticipated, Freddie was up bright and early the next morning, jumping on her bed and ready to open presents. Not bothering to get changed they go down in their pyjamas.

Freddie with the help of Brian and Anita brought her a tabby kitten for Christmas, a female that she named Queenie.

Prince didn't like her at first but after a week in the same house, Amelia found them curled up together in Freddie's room.

So is anyone else picturing little Freddie as a mini Rami Malek or is that just me?
