Part 4

Nat POV-
I wake up and Y/N isn't in bed anymore. I check the time and it's just before 7am, that means she's out running with Steve.
I peak out the door and nobody is around so I run back to my room. I was embarrassed about last night, I had no idea what came over me but I just felt I needed someone and Y/N was that person.

I go downstairs and prepare some breakfast
Clint- good morning, how are we today?
Nat- I'm okay, yourself?
Clint- great as ever
He always knew how to cheer me up, Clint is my best friend and that would never change. He saved my life and made me a better person.
I make him some breakfast as well when Y/N and Steve bundle into the kitchen laughing incredibly loud
Steve- I thought you said you were going to catch me at the end
Y/N- I lied, how the hell am I supposed to catch something I can't see?

Clint smiles at me before launching an apple towards Y/N who catches it without even looking
Slowly turning her head towards us, I point at Clint and he points back at me before we both laugh
Y/N- thanks for my breakfast
She smiles and starts eating the apple walking closer to me. She strides past and grabs a bottle of water
Nat- if you aren't too busy then I thought we could train?
Y/N- sure thing, let me eat this then I'm all yours Romanoff
Butterflies filled my stomach, I've never felt this way about anyone before and now it's my boss? I couldn't do this, she wasn't interested and definitely wasn't ready for anything.
Y/N- let's go, it's time for me to kick your ass
Nat- you wish

There's no one else in the training room and Y/N shuts the door behind us
Y/N- are you okay?
Nat- I'm sorry
Y/N- you have nothing to apologise for, whatever you went through last night is fine. I'm just glad you decided I could help
Nat- can we fight now?
Y/N- get ready then

I start throwing punches and she avoids them all easily. Her weird sixth sense was helping her and she knew it, I took a swing at her but she caught my fist then swiped my leg out from under me.
Her knee rested on my chest and she pinned both my arms above my head, we both stared at each other for a minute.
Y/N- I win
Nat- I want a rematch
She stood up and offered her hand, I accepted and she pulled me up
Nat- wear this
I hand her a blindfold and she smirks
Y/N- I mean I'm flattered Nat but anyone could walk in
Nat- oh shut up, it's not like that

I wish it was like that but it's not. She had a flirtatious side to her that I hadn't seen. I'd only known her for a couple weeks but it felt like forever.

Y/N POV-
I put the blindfold on
Y/N- this could go horribly wrong so if I die then you got none of my things
I can hear her laughing, I'm glad she's feeling better. Last night was strange for me because I didn't know what to do, a woman of her stature needed my help and it confused me. She didn't like letting people see her vulnerable but she let me

Nat- I'm gonna kick your ass now
I turn round and start shaking my bum at her, I can sense she's getting closer so I decide to have some fun.
I take a step to the side and slide my leg out causing her to trip up
Nat- okay that's not fair
Y/N- I didn't realise there were rules
Nat- please give me a proper fight
Y/N- okay fine

We spar for the next hour or so, she was a better fighter than I realised. She managed to land a punch to my ribs at one point and celebrated which made me chuckle a little.
When we are done I sit down on the bench and she follows me
Nat- you are incredibly skilled, you shouldn't be riding a desk
Y/N- I've got to get you morons into shape first and then when I'm done, who knows?
Nat- will you stay?
Y/N- I don't know yet, there's people who need help and I can't sit back watching that. Would you want me to stay?
She takes her time to answer, I can tell she is thinking but I didn't know what about
Nat- yeah, I would

I can feel myself staring at her like we are in our own little world, I didn't want to stop because something felt so right about this but I knew I couldn't do it
Luckily, my phone rings and interrupts us
Y/N- sorry, I've got to take this
Nat- I'll see you later Y/N
She kisses my cheek before leaving

Fury- All the avengers have a mission, we've found a Hydra Base in Sokovia.
Y/N- Yes Sir, when do we go?
Fury- Early morning, get them prepped and ready.
Y/N- I'm on it Sir
Fury- are they ready?
Y/N- No, but I think they should pull together if I'm there
Fury- Take the lead, they all report into you

Y/N- JARVIS, I need everyone in the meeting room in 20 minutes
JARVIS- I will inform them
I head to the meeting room rushing past Clint and Natasha who both watch as I run past.
I've set up as they all come in
Y/N- sit down, we've got a mission. Hydra are back and we need to stop them, we are going to a base in Sokovia. Intel shows armed guards everywhere as well as gun turrets located on the exterior of the base. Stark, you need to take down the security wall, it's some sort of electrical shield.

I explain the rest of the mission and everyone understand
Y/N- lastly, there will be no funny business out there. This is too important to let any feelings get in the way off and I'm going to make sure of that. I'm leading this mission and you'll report to me.
Steve- seriously? Are you trained for that?
Y/N- if you don't like it Rogers then you can leave the team
Steve- I'll deal with it
Y/N- good, read your information packets and get some rest. You are all dismissed.
