Narrator POV-

Time was ticking as you inspected the bomb, it was nothing like you'd ever seen but the barrels which surrounded you showed that this detonating was not an option.

The key opened the panel, multiple wires crossing over.
Y/N- Pietro, take this across to the other bomb, tell them to be careful
Pietro- I'll be back okay?
Y/N- No, don't come back until I say it's safe to
Pietro- But Y/N....
Y/N- Don't make this harder for me, just go.

Natasha and Steve were heading towards the other bomb, they needed to find it before someone else did but it was too late.
Guards surrounding the building, bullets flying towards anyone who ran towards them.

Avengers following the sound of screams and bullets, one by one arriving behind the temporary blockade Steve had created.
"What's the plan?" gently spoke Wanda who was holding a shield between them and the bullets.
"We need to create a pathway for the bomb squad" roared Steve, his voice getting louder by the word.

The fighting began, Wanda ripping guns apart as Peter swing through the air and Tony followed behind.
Steve and Natasha engaged in hand to hand combat as Clint took aim from the opposite building.
Thor sending crackles of thunder down, striking the men who stood in his path.

The guard retreating into the building, multiple men running, scared of the fight that was still yet to come.
Pietro arrived, knocking people off there feet, his speed unseeable to the ordinary human eye.

"What are you doing here Pietro?" screamed Natasha as she shocked the guard in front of her.
"I was told to bring this here, you'll need it" Pietro replied as he went running past.

Words got stuck in Natasha's throat as everyone could see the fear across her face. There had been too many times where she'd nearly lost Y/N and today, it was another one of those days.

The guards had retreated, some of them leaving the surrounding area, running as fast as possible.
Rogers and Stark pushing their way in the front entrance as Peter and Pietro went round the back.

Wanda stood close to Natasha, the women they both adored was alone with a bomb and had become uncontactable.
No matter how much they tried, there was no reply but they couldn't check on her. The fight here wasn't complete yet.

The bomb squad focusing on the key components of the bomb as the ground started shaking, the buildings structure becoming critical as Wanda tried her best to hold it up, Pietro sweeping round removing anyone who didn't need to be there.

Natasha was one of the last out, Steve wrapping his arms around her immediately. A few tears heard from next to her as the team noticed the dark cloud of smoke filling the air.
Steve- I'm sorry.

Y/N POV-

I'd sent Pietro away with the key, I didn't know if they'd need it but he couldn't be here. If he was here then I was responsible for him as well and that was added pressure I didn't need.

The circuitry was to a level I'd never experienced before, this was made by a professional and we knew who but he was gone.

Revealing the wires was the easy part, the rest was tough.
I didn't know how to stop this bomb but I sure was going to give it a try.

I was deep in thought when a noise took my attention.
Somebody was here but I didn't know who, they were nowhere to be seen.

Y/N- who's there?
No answer.
Maybe it was a rat or something.

I turned back to the bomb, time ticking down as the noise happened again.
This time, I could feel the presence behind me, they were a lot bigger than I expected.
His muscles prominent as he bared down upon me, a knife in one hand.

I grabbed the closest thing to me, a wrench and I wrapped a rag around my other hand.
The brawl ensued, knife swinging at my body as I twisted and turned, the blade never making contact.

Y/N- you do realise there is a bomb here?
??- oh yes, I was the one who put it there

Well that makes sense now.
He was here to make sure the bomb detonated and he didn't care if he was taken with it.

I landed a kick to his leg, sweeping him to the floor as I stood on his hand, knife falling beside him.
I kicked it to the side before he tackled me into the wall.
His fists connecting with my stomach, his dominating body size hard for me to compete with as he continued his onslaught.

One hand tightly wrapped around my throat as a smirk covered his face, all traces of oxygen leaving my body.
There was only one thing left to do.

I raised my hands to his scratching at them causing a grip change, my fingers slipping under his allowing me to bend his finger back.
The snapping noise was followed by a bellowing scream, his agony seen across his face.

I retook my stance in front of him, he was positioned between me and the bomb, slowly ticking down as it hit 5 minutes left.

He came towards me and I prepared, a deafening noise ringing as his blood splattered across my face.

Oscar- thought you might need some help
Y/N- never have I been happier to see you
Oscar- thank me later, sort that out first
Y/N- I'm gonna need your car

I detached the explosives from the bomb, I knew I could save the building but I had to get this away from the civilians.
The beach was close and it was perfect, all I had to do was get the bomb into the river.
It sounds easier than it is.

Racing through traffic, ducking in between cars as horns blared at me, I didn't have long.
Time was running low and I knew I wasn't going to make it, Plan B had failed so now it was time for Plan C.
I made a sharp turn towards an old industrial street, vacated months ago after building developers bought the properties.

Parking the car in the empty lot, all I could do was get far enough away as the bomb ticked down.

The dense smoke filled the air as buildings came crumbling down around me.
One minute I was running away and the next, I don't know what happened.
