Maria POV-

The cabin was the best place for Y/N right now. She liked to sit and watch the lake, it was incredibly calming as the water rippled whilst birds chirped in the surrounding woods.

She was sat on her swinging chair, gently rocking back and forwards. Her attention was always on the lake and it was hard to get her to do anything.
She hadn't spoken a word yet and I was starting to worry, her food consumption was minimal and she didn't sleep that much.
Always going to bed after me and waking up at the crack of dawn.

As I got closer to her, I could see her attention was somewhere else, this time on a book that Bucky had packed for her.
Maria- The Hobbit? He told me he read that when it first came out
Her eyes diverted towards me, a faint smile on her face as she started to read again.
She was still there, I just didn't know what to do to get her to open up again and I was pretty sure there was only one person who could do that now.

Nat POV-

We pulled up outside the cabin, Clint driving me there as I still wasn't able to do that. It was late when we arrived, darkness slowly starting to settle.
The door was open as Maria greeted us, pointing to where Y/N was.

She looked vulnerable, her body language closed showing she was protecting herself.
I grabbed the supplies from Clint, if I knew Y/N well enough then there were certain things that could make her happy.

I made my way down the yard and towards the seat she was in.
I put the basket down, the blanket I brought unravelled on the ground as I took a seat. Supplies including soda and snacks placed down as I rested my head on the pillow watching the sky.
Nat- I'm here if you feel okay to join Babe.

I wanted her to so badly sit next to me and just say hi or that she loved me but I wasn't going to force her. She was going through this for a reason and no matter how long it took, I'd be here for her.

The creek of the chair came next as she moved next to me, a distance between us which showed she was quite ready yet but this was better than anything recently.
I turned my head to look at her, cuts and bruises covered her face still, some of them had started to fade.

She didn't say anything, her fingers fiddling with themselves as she took deep breaths focusing on the stars in the sky

Nat- I remember our date when we watched the stars in the back of your truck, it was the day I realised how much I needed you and how much I loved you

I couldn't take my eyes off her, I knew she battling herself and who knew what the outcome would be.
When she didn't say anything, I looked back at the stars, the beauty in the sky and next to me.

Nat- they told me you were dead that the solider had killed you. They showed me a video of you on the floor, his hands wrapped around your neck and all I wanted to do was kill him for touching you.

Her fingers trailed along the bruises on her neck, prominent signs of hands shown in the bruises.

Nat- I didn't know what to do, I wanted to believe you were okay but I just didn't know.

She sat up and gently shifted towards me before laying down again, her head now laying on my shoulder.
All she wanted was to feel safe.

Nat- I've got you Y/N, I'm not going to let anyone touch you again and that's a promise.
Her tears were felt against my body, my shirt slowly getting wet by the second.
Nat- cry it out if you need to, I'm not going anywhere. When we are together, you can feel whatever you need to feel, nobody has to know if you don't want them to.

We sat there for hours before she feel asleep. I got Maria outside who carried her inside, I wasn't in the right condition to be able to do that so the help was accepted.

We got Y/N into bed, Maria saying this was the first time in days that she'd slept properly. I settled next to her, wrapping my arms around her as she snuggled in close to me.

I was hoping to wake up next to her but she was already gone and there was only one place she would be.

Maria- she's outside already
Nat- I've got this

I took the juice from the counter and carried it outside, Y/N sat in the chair again but this time, her head was resting her knees which were tucked into her chest.
I put the glasses down on the table and kneeled down in front of her, the puffiness showed she'd been crying again.

Nat- you're doing so well babe, I am so proud of you
In all honestly, I had no idea how to deal with this. I'd asked for some help before coming here and all they suggested was to guide her through it saying anything too serious could cause damage.

She leant down and grabbed her tablet from the floor, setting up a video before handing it to me.
I clicked play, it was CCTV footage from the building, one side showing her and the other was me.

I could see what they were doing to her as I was sat on the floor. The soldier was so close to killing her and I'd seen him strangling her but nothing after.
When she got him off her, they made her watch. She thought she saw me die and that's what this was about. She wasn't scared about herself, she was scared of losing me.

Y/N- I thought you died, I didn't know what to do
Nat- I had no idea you saw it
Y/N- then I had to kill a man, one who had no idea what he was doing
Nat- he tried to kill you
Y/N- Hydra tried to kill me, he was just infected with their parasite

Maria came outside and joined us, Y/N quiet as we talked between ourselves.
She'd look like she was watching from time to time but nothing to ever show she was interested.

I didn't know how to help her but I loved the girl with everything.

Thank you for all the likes and reads!
For the ending, would you prefer I did infinity war and endgame or made a new ending myself?
