Part 51

Y/N POV-

It had been a week since the test were run. I knew I passed all the physical test but failed the mental tests, no doubt in my mind about it.

The blood work was taking the longest to get back, the scientists searching for specific genomes to see if the possibility of me making Natasha pregnant was possible.

Making breakfast, my phone started to ring. I look over and see it's Fury.
Y/N- are they back?
Fury- you should come in and hear this
Y/N- is it really my child Nick?
Fury- firstly, don't call me Nick but yes, it is.
Y/N- I'll be in soon.

I didn't waste any time, putting on my jacket and grabbing my keys then running out the door.

Everyone was waiting for me when I got to Fury's office. The scientist stood there was piles of paperwork and a whiteboard
Y/N- okay so lay it on me
Dr Jeffers- okay so your DNA structure is different to what another's would be. There is an extra genome which we've tested and it's the reason how you've created a child
Y/N- honestly this makes no sense to me
Dr Jeffers- so when you and Natasha had sex, you fluids ended up inside her in the same way a mans would. Your extra genome caused a reaction with her body and it had the same effect that sperm would. Your genome is the same as what a man would have but instead you have it as well as a females.
Y/N- could this have happened before?
Dr Jeffers- yes but we tested the genome and it only reacts with certain DNA samples

Dr Jeffers had now left the room, Fury and I the only ones here
Fury- congratulations kid
Y/N- I can barely look after myself, how am I supposed to take care of a child?
Fury- I could always ship you off to a remote island and leave you there?
Y/N- probably easier than a child

He moves from his chair and sits next to me on the couch
Fury- listen, you are smart and love to learn. Think of this as a new learning experience and a way to further educate yourself
Y/N- what happens if the kid doesn't like me?
Fury- I'm certain Mila will love you, everyone loves you
Y/N- Mila?
Fury- Mila Ella Romanoff, I had the input with Ella
Y/N- thank you Nick
Fury- you know what you've got to do now

Nat POV-

I've wanted to call her everyday since I told her but Clint and Wanda talked me out of it.
They wouldn't leave me alone and I was glad for it, I knew Y/N would react badly but I didn't think it would be this bad.

There was a knock on the door, it must be Wanda.
I stood up opening and was shocked to see her
Y/N- can we talk?
Nat- oh yeah sure, come in

I'd been wanting this but yet it didn't feel right, I didn't know if she was going to be okay with this
Nat- so?
Y/N- I'm sorry for what I said, I should've let you explain things
Nat- you believe me now?
Y/N- I had them run tests to be sure so yes, I know it's my child
Nat- I didn't know that

She stood up and walked over to the window, hands resting around the frame
Y/N- were you planning on telling me when you got back?
Nat- I wasn't allowed to, Shield ordered me not to say anything
Y/N- what do you need from me?
Nat- excuse me?
Y/N- you've been raising a child for a year, I need to help out financially
Nat- I don't want your money
Y/N- what do you want?
Nat- YOU! I want you back.

I couldn't believe I just said that, it was me who broke us up and ruined everything.
A look of confusion of her face, words unable to be spoken
Nat- I'm sorry okay, forget I said anything
Y/N- take some time and think about what you need from me, I'll get myself right and then we can figure this out together.

I wanted to fight for her. Convince her to stay but I just didn't know how.

Y/N POV-

I am a mess. I wanted with all my will to fight for her again but she was with Steve, what could I do about that?

I headed down the stairs wiping tears away as I got to the main room, Tony and Clint watching CCTV footage
Tony- ah Clarke, you're trained in observation?
Y/N- yeah why?
Tony- watch this and tell me what you see

It was the footage from the compound takeover, particularly Oscar and I.
The movements were being tracked by Friday and run through many different programmes.
Y/N- what am I looking for?
Tony- identifying features

Maybe I should just tell them? It was me in the first place that wanted to keep it private but it wasn't like it mattered, I wasn't part of the team anymore.
Y/N- well that guy is Oscar and she is me. Now enjoy your day and you're welcome.

They followed me out of the room, shouts coming from behind as the elevator pinged and footsteps raced down the stairs
Steve- what is going on here?
Tony- did you know Y/N was the masked crusader the other day?
Steve- what? No.
Wanda- I did

I look around and see Nat stood there, not knowing what to say
Y/N- look Fury sent me and Oscar helped out, it was nothing so let's just ignore it
Tony- it wasn't nothing, you saved all of our lives and I can never repay you for that
Y/N- you don't have to, I don't want anything from you.

I walked out of the building and back towards my car, I needed a distraction and that was work.

Fury- you can't work
Y/N- why?
Fury- you haven't been cleared, you failed every mental test
Y/N- so?
Fury- you're a liability currently, sort your head out and then maybe we will think about it
Y/N- how do I do that?
Fury- we can make a plan for you, if that's what you want?
Y/N- maybe next time.

I couldn't sit there and listen to him, I needed alcohol and a lot of it.
