Part 36

Nat POV-

I roll over and Y/N isn't in bed which isn't surprising. I would've expected her have been working but the bathroom light is on. I jump out of bed and knock on the door.
Only noises can be heard as Y/N doesn't reply

Nat- I'm coming in
I gently push the door open and she's sat on the floor, head over the toilet violently being sick
Nat- hey beautiful, get it all up
I rub her back and feel her skin is on fire, sweat is trickling down her back
Nat- what can I do to help?
Y/N- water please
I grab a glass and fill it, she downs it quickly before handing the glass back to me
Nat- we need to cool you down
She nods as I help her stand up, her legs shaking as she is struggling to hold balance.

We walk over to the shower and I turn it on, the cold water running down both of us.
Y/N's body is tired and she's struggling to keep her eyes open, I don't know why she's feeling like this but I'll just have to help her however I can.
I grab towel and get out the shower leaving Y/N sat on the floor. Brining in a clean towel and fresh clothes for Y/N, I help her out of the shower and get dressed.

Nat- where did this come from?
Y/N- I don't know, my head is pounding and it was so much I couldn't deal with it
Nat- okay okay, have you ever felt like this before?
Y/N- once
Nat- what happened?
Y/N- I lost 7 of my regiment in the war....
Nat- oh babe, I'm so sorry but none of us are going anywhere
Y/N- I think something is coming, this is my warning

Our door opens and the light streams in, Y/N wincing from the pain
Y/N- close the fucking door
Steve- okay, someone woke up moody
Nat- just close the door
Steve- what's happening?
Nat- she's not very well, that's all
Steve- right okay, Fury needs you Y/N, ring him when you can
She just nods, her eyes still closed.

I grab her phone and dial his number before handing it to her. I leave the room and close the door behind me, I didn't want to be in her way if this was a private conversation.
She comes downstairs 15 minutes later fully dressed with a duffel bag
Nat- what's that for?
Y/N- I'm needed at headquarters, something about contracts and paperwork
Nat- how long are you going to be gone for?
Y/N- not long, I'm hoping to be back tonight. This is just in case
Nat- okay. I love you
Y/N- I love you too, now stay safe please
Nat- I promise.

Y/N POV-

Okay so I didn't like lying to Natasha but it was necessary. Fury and I had been working on something for weeks now, I couldn't let it slip to the team because I know the effects it would have on them once revealed.

Hill- How you doing Y/N? You look like shit
Y/N- that's exactly how I'm feeling, now let's get this done before Natasha asks me anymore questions.

The meeting starts and it's about Hydra, well their new soldier.
We hadn't got to far when the alarms start to sound, the red lights swirling around us as Maria and I spring into action.
Maria- Y/N get Fury to safety and I'll help clear the pathway for you. The service tunnels down below lead to an old car park. Black jeep in the corner with keys under the wheel.

We load up our weapons grabbing reserves and attaching the holsters. I give Fury the bulletproof vest and Maria the other, I knew they were more important than me so needed protection.
I lead the way down the corridor as the screams from around us get louder. A group of armed men come towards us as I take the shots immobilising them.

Maria- get down!
A grenade is thrown and I get blasted across the room, the force sending furniture flying as well as ripping a hole in the wall.
I roll over and Maria helps me up
Maria- Just like Madrid all over again
Y/N- we remember Madrid very differently
I take control again and we head to the tunnels, Maria comes with us instead of staying. The guards were coming in fast and I couldn't protect Fury on my own.

We've worked our way through the tunnels only encountering a couple guards which we took out with ease
Maria- you ready?
Fury- wait
Y/N- what?
Fury- take this and get it to Captain America, he will know what to do
Y/N- I'm not leaving you
Fury- you have to, take the flash drive and the jeep, there's a preprogrammed safe house in there. Head there and lay low for a couple days, then activate plan FD.
Y/N- I can't
Fury- I trust you with my life and the whole of shield, you have to do this Y/N

I take a deep breath and open the door, shots being fired as I roll towards a car. I set up the rifle drawing fire allowing Fury and Maria to their car. Most of the men follow as I take down the rest getting to the jeep. I speed off and make sure I'm not being followed before following the route.

Nat POV-

I had been on edge ever since Y/N left, she had a bad feeling about today and I didn't know why because nothing had happened.
Steve- gear up, the headquarters is under attack
Nat- Y/N's there
Steve- I know, we are all going

It wasn't too far away and we all arrive quickly, the enemy were gone leaving the wounded to be tended to.
Sharon- thank god you're here, it's a mess and we don't know how to cope
Nat- where's Y/N?
Sharon- we don't know, she disappeared alongside Fury and Maria.
Nat- Fuck!
Sharon- if they followed plan then they would've taken the car from the parking garage 2 miles away.

I jump in my car and head straight there, it was a blood bath. Multiple men dead next to their cars and a blood trail leading from the door to an empty space.
I grab my phone and try calling her but there's no luck, it goes straight to voicemail.
I stand looking around hoping for any clue as to what the hell happened and my phone rings
Nat- what?
Steve- get to the hospital, it's Fury.
