Something I've noticed with this community is that myself and a lot of people feel disconnected from it, finding it hard to make friends and get involved in the community. Wattpad is a bad platform to actually make friends and form community on - which is fine, since this is a fanfic writing site and not social media. But we all want to make friends here! Back in the old days, we used to make kik groups and talk and roleplay there. Now it's moved on to discord.
I want to help bring this community together by creating a giant community hub on discord. One space for us all to make friends and interact with each other. It would have channels like fic promoting to help people find fics, discussing the series, just talking about writing, getting writing advice and help, events and challenges to inspire writing, art, edits, and other creative works, spaces to chat with each other, a vent channel, voice chats, a meme channel. It won't be solely writing focused, I want it to be community-focused, where we can all make friends and talk with each other.
Obviously to make this work I'm going to need a lot of people joining and active, and a lot of admins. So please, tag people, tell your friends, spread the word around the community. People new and old, people who have never heard of me or my account. And I'd love to hear suggestions about what you guys would want out of a community hub, and what would be useful to bring the community together!
