I talked about a book idea I had on here about two years ago and it's been floating around in my head for a while. Anyway, I'm going to actually start working on it.
Anyway first things first: basic worldbuilding!! In this world everyone has an alignment - a negative trait and a positive trait. There are a select number of negative anr positive traits to align with that all correspond with each other. I'll need to think of some way of physically showing which alignment everyone has. I have to main ideas for the alignments:
One more complex one, based on that dark core test that was going around.
Althruism - self interest
Compersion - sadism
Benevolent - spite
Virtuous - moral disengagement
Gratitude - entitlement
Empathy - apathy
Modesty - narcissism
Honesty - machiavellianism
And one based in the seven sins and the contrary vices
Pride - humility
Kindness - envy
Abstinence - gluttony
Chastity - lust
Patience - wrath
Liberality - greed
Diligence - sloth
Anyway, what are your thoughts? I'm leaning towards the seven sins and contrary vices - it's more easy to understand and remember and they're not all extremely negative traits like sadism and the likes. I was wary that they'd be a little cliche but thinking about it now, they're probably the better choice, but I'm definitely open to suggestions!!
