I'm going to be writing some more rants for Spitting Shit but I don't know which one to work on first. I have some planned out so I'm asking for opinions? This is how I draft my rants otherwise I forget my points lol. I try to make my rants sound like professional and insightful essays but this is what really goes on
"Stop the Heathertail slander"
Basically I've noticed a lot of hate directed towards her and I'm pissed
- unjustified hate
- is it misogyny or am I reaching
- literally everyone hates her for things other characters get away with
- Lionblaze had violent intrusive thoughts about murdering her and then almost killed Crowfeather imagining he was her but go off i guess
- he can't help his intrusive thoughts but he acted on them. That's not okay. But Heathertail gets more hate for "betraying her Clan" and "being annoying" go fuck yourselves
Pedophilia + incest - the bad boys
- real cats do x is invalid because they don't act like real fucking cats
- yes they're anthropomorphic but that doesn't mean their morality and ideals are the same as ours
- tbh they kinda are tho but pedophilia + incest is acceptable and these specific couples prove that. We gotta base this on the warriors society, not our own.
- but pedophilia should be in warriors and that's the tea. Why? It isn't about age gaps, it's about the power imbalance that stems from the maturity difference. We love a sis who took health class
- Apprentices are treated as if they're less mature than warriors, especially in the first arc when the worldbuilding was stronger.
- so maybe older apprentices + warriors is okay? Regardless pedophilia doesn't canonically exist in warriors.
- as for incest they literally value pure blood so that's okay too ig. Wouldn't recommend putting it in your fics though
"Love your Mentally Ill Cats"
- Palebird canonically has postnatal depression and is kinda emotionally distant to her kit but she gets a fuckton of hate (more than sandgorse who treated his son like shit for not following his dad's path)
- Bluestar has dementia but that's fake news it's ptsd I analysed the symptoms bc I'm a fucking nerd.
- Alder displays a lot of gad symptoms and it's generally accepted but not canon that homeboy has anxiety
- alderheart is praised and loved and "uwu anxious softboy" while Bluestar is "cr*zy and unreasonable" like yessss love me that good hypocrisy
"we support all characters with mental illnesses NOT THAT ONE THEY'RE SCARY" it's almost like mental illnesses have symptoms anr those symptoms aren't cute
- mental illnesses are ugly and they should be portrayed as such. Positive rep is great! But mental illness shouldn't be romanticised
- no one has to like these characters but give them their props, k?
"The Disaster Called SkyClan"
- everyone hates/used to hate skyclan and this is why. It was a flop but it had a fuckton of potential ERINS LET ME WRITE THE SERIES.
- no worldbuilding. They were ThunderClan but with nice legs. Boring!! Readers aren't going to feel connceted to them if they can get all the qualities they love from another source.
- no relevance to the plot for a along ass time. There was no point to tjem whatsoever during this time.
- fix the worldbuilding. Cue my really cool idea!! They live in trees!
- have a whole fucking arc around skyclan goddamn. no time between being founded and then returning. social dynamics, erasure of history, starclan why did you let this happen?
