I looked out through the closed window from the back of the car. My body had tensed up with dreadful thoughts and eagerness to see my father again.

The sun had already set down the horizon and a dark evening sky stretched beyond the golden streaks of the highway light poles.

We were on our way to the airport for the next flight back to my place. Having bid farewell to the countries not long ago, I felt a small part of me disheartened that I had to leave them all so suddenly.

I sat silently, looking down at my fingers interwined together on my lap and frowned.

They were all having so much fun earlier. But now, because of me they might be worried.

Even Yao wasn't there...

I shook off all the unnecessary thoughts and looked out again.

They might be worried, but that's because they care about me. Just like I care about them. And I'm sure everything will be okay! Father is going to be alright and after checking in on him, I can return back to the Hetalia Mansion and surprise them all!

I kept a spark of hope lit in my heart. I just had to put a little bit of faith in it and wish for the best, that's all. Worrying won't make the situation any better. I have to be strong, for myself and everyone else.

While I was encouraging myself, I noticed the car take a different turn from the original route.

My eyes widened a bit as I turned ahead to talk to the man who was driving.

"Umm, excuse me? Is this the way to the airport?"

The man didn't reply.

I turned to face the other one who was sitting beside me. "Is this the right way?" I asked hesitantly.

"Yes, it is, Miss (Y/n)," he answered in a hoarse voice.

I noticed a glint of smile temporarily appear on his face. I leaned back into the seat with my heart pounding heavily in my chest. I tried to look out through the window again, trying to find sign of familiar surroundings. However, I couldn't seem to recognize anything on the way.

Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted another car closely following ours.

My throat suddenly felt dry and my heart clenched tighter every second. A wave of dread swept over me.

"Where are you taking me?!" I cried out at the man beside me.

He looked over at me and gave a sick smirk. "Your are only allowed to ask questions when we say so. We have taken you hostage now."

H-Hostage??

The word rang in my head. I gulped and nervously searched for my phone on me. I quietly took it out and was about to dial the first number when a hand snatched it out of my palm.

"You won't be needing this, little lady," the buff man said nonchalantly, and put it inside the pocked of his coat.

"No! Please give it back!" I sprang on him and tried to take back the only thing that ensured my safety. But he was too strong and easily pinned my wrists together and stopped me. I struggled to get my hands out of his tight grip.

All of a sudden, the car came to an abrupt stop and I stumbled into my seat.

Looking up, I saw the other car pull over to our side. Its front door opened and I saw a Japanese-looking man wearing a long overcoat come out of it. He quietly made his way to our car and stopped right in front of my window.

He slowly slid his inside his overcoat and pulled something out from the side of his waist. Something long.

A...katana?!

Before I could react, he pulled the katana over his head with two hands and swiftly swung it against the car door. The screech of the metal and the shattering of glass filled the air.

I shrieked out and backed away towards the opposite side, away from the falling shards of glass, when I felt something soft being pressed against my mouth.

My eyes started feeling heavy for some reason and I felt myself drifting into darkness...
