After the several hours long flight, we finally landed in Tokyo. The announcement came up for us to descend the plane. Standing up, I looked over at the others.
Ludwig looked pale and had his head rested on his palms while Feliciano and Antonio kept fanning him with two magazines.
"I didn't know you get motion sickness from flights, Germany," Antonio fanned him harder.
"Don't...worry...I will be...okay," Ludwig muttered.Francis was flirting with an air hostess, offering her roses that he pulled out from unexpected places of his clothing. Lovino and Yao stared and sweatdropped as Ivan changed into a bright coat with big sunflowers printed all over it.
Arthur was pulling Alfred's collar to wake him up from his deep sleep.
"Are you in a coma?! Wake up, you bloody git! We've arrived!"
Alfred slowly opened his eyes. "Is this the Hamburger Street?"
"No, idiot! We're in Japan!"The blonde American finally snapped out of his dreams and stood up. "Alright, then! Let's go and meet Japan!"
We headed out of the plane and went to the luggage counter to fetch our belongings. Yao brought my suitcase for me.
"Thank you, Yao," I nervously smiled.
"Are you still nervous, (Y/n) aru?" he asked.
"Well...yes, a little," I answered timidly.Yao smiled and gave me a pat on the head. "Don't be, aru. I'm here for you."
Hearing this reassurance, I couldn't help but smile at him. I knew he would always stick to his words. And him being with me is all I needed.
Soon everyone got their luggages and we headed out of the airport.
Walking out of the premises, a gentle spring breeze carrying Cherry Blossom petals with it welcomed us as we stepped onto the Japanese soil.
The serenity of the place was multiplied by the blooming cherry blossom trees lining up by the road. The delicate beauty of the pink petals fallen on the ground by our feet still remained fresh and pure. I looked up at the clear sky which was tinted in the lightest shade of blue.
Many native Japanese and foreigners walked around. This has always fascinated me how Japan accepts every person from across the world in its land.
"Our cabs will be coming in a minute," Alfred announced.
I took a deep breath. The warm air was scented with a mixture of fruity and floral fragrance of springtime. The sweet scent made my body loosen up as I felt relaxed.
"We're finally here...Japan." I smiled to myself.
A few moments later, we saw three cars coming towards us. They pulled over for us to get in. Yao, Ludwig and I took the first cab and waited till the engine began to run and soon we headed off.
Through the window, I saw many towering buildings and skyscrapers of various architecture pass by. There were many signs on the road but because of my inadequate knowledge in Japanese, I couldn't read them.
"Yao, what building is that?" I asked, pointing at a rather peculiar‐looking building which seemed like a cluster of blocks from outside.
"That is a capsule hotel, aru," he replied.
I recall reading about them in an article. These hotels have small rooms called capsules which have all the facilities that are required for staying overnight. So this is what it looks like.
"Do you see that place over there, (Y/n)?" Yao pointed towards a smaller building at a distance.
"Yes, I can."
"That is a restaurant where robots come and take your order, aru. There are also robots which can sing, dance and play!" he added."That's amazing!" I exclaimed.
"Japan is a very advanced country. He has worked very hard to build all these," Ludwig said, looking out.
Yao nodded. "He sure did, aru. He has grown up a lot."
I looked over at Yao. He had a calm smile on his face. But I noticed something else as well. Was it...pride over his brother's achievements?
The car stopped at the intersection on a red signal. People crossed the road from one side to another. I noticed that there was a diagonal crossing on the road as well, connecting two pavements from opposite sides. It is said that Japan is the only country to have this.
"It's really intriguing how Japan has so many different customs and ways," I wondered aloud.
Yao chuckled. "Don't be too surprised if you find carps in some drainage canals, aru."
"Wait, really?!" I asked, surprised.
The traffic signal went blue and the car started again. I turned to look out the window again when a question suddenly hit my mind. I looked back at the two countries and asked. "Where are we going?"
"To Japan's house."
