False Alarm

I frantically searched around the room, but couldn't find the ticket anywhere.

Where did it go??

Without wasting another minute, I immediately ran to Yao's room. On reaching his room, I impatiently knocked on his door.

"Coming, aru!" his voice came from the other side.

A few moments later, he opened the door. "(Y/n)? Why are you so―"

"Yao, I can't find my flight ticket!" I cried out.

Yao's eyes widened. "(Y/n), you can't find it, aru?" he asked in shock.
I shook my head.

Worry filled his face. I felt at fault for making him tensed like this.

"Let's search for it together, aru!" He took my hand and led me down the corridor back to my room.

There, I showed him the drawer where the ticket was before.

Yao checked the drawer and pulled out something.

The flight ticket!

I looked at it in disbelief. Wait, I checked here many times so how did I not see it?!

I sighed. "I think I was hallucinating."
Yao chuckled. "At least we found it, aru. Don't worry too much, (Y/n)," he smiled.

I nodded with a half-smile.

Maybe I was getting too worked up over small things because of the upcoming meeting. Hopefully I can unwind my tensed nerves in the trip.

Keeping back the ticket in its original place, Yao turned to me.

"Is there anything else you need me for, (Y/n), aru?" he asked with a hint of mischief in this voice.
I giggled. "No, but thank you."

I thanked Yao who went back to his room and sat down on my bed, letting out a deep breath.

"I think I should continue packing later," I wondered aloud.

Yao walked back to his room at a steady pace, admiring the morning through the large corridor windows. He suddenly stopped in his tracks when he saw the person standing in his way.

"Japan? Is there something you want to say, aru?" he asked, confused.

Kiku had an indifferent expression worn on his face. "Nothing much, Mr. China. I just saw you coming out of Miss (Y/n)'s room this early," he said, stoically.

A deep blush spread on the Chinese man's cheeks. "I was just helping her look for something, aru!" he bashed at him.

"Oh? What could it be?"
"I-It was her plane ticket."

A smirk finally appeared on Kiku's face and he turned around.

"Miss (Y/n) can be a bit clumsy sometimes. She should've checked her drawer carefully. But that's part of her charms."

With that said, he quietly made his way down the corridor. "Maybe she needs someone who can actually take care of her. Are you sure you can do that, Mr. China?" he said as he left.

Yao had his fists clenched all this time. Kiku's words pierced through his heart.

Was he not good enough for her?

Suddenly, something crossed his mind.

How did Kiku know that (Y/n)'s flight ticket was in the drawers?
