The countries and I watched in awe as Kiku stood before us wearing an apron and a white handkerchief over his head. He looked quite like a housewife in this attire. I put a hand over my lips to suppress my laughter.

"Uh...Japan? Why are you wearing those things?" Alfred sweatdropped.

"We need to make preparations before going for flower‐viewing. First, we need to clean the lunch boxes. Then we need to make the food and pack them. After that, we need to make sure that we have taken things for entertainment," he responded with his arms crossed.

Now we all sweatdropped.

So, we have to do so many preparations before going out? This might take longer than I expected.

"Now, we need to distribute work," Kiku announced. "Mr. Russia and Mr. England will take care of cleaning and arranging the lunch boxes."

"But Japan, I think I can cook ‐"
"Noo!"

Arthur was shut off by everyone. He went over to a dark corner and sighed.

Kiku continued. "For the stuff we need for enjoyment, I choose Mr. America, Mr. Spain and Mr. Romano."

"Roger that!" Alfred raised his hand in a salute.

"And the rest will come with me and prepare the food we are going to bring with us. I will show you how it is done."

Thus, we started with our tasks. I chopped the vegetables and sliced the meat, taking extra caution not to slice it too thin or they might get greasy. The others already started cooking on the stove.

"Japan, is the flame alright?" Francis asked.
"Yes, just a little lower would be better," Kiku guided.
"Japan, how deep should I fry this?" Ludwig enquired.
"A bit more."

I looked over to them. Kiku went from one person to another and gave them instructions. He even helped them out with the cooking.

He is so reliable, I thought.

All of a sudden, the Japanese man's eyes locked with mine. I got startled and went back to my work. He must have noticed me looking at him. I felt so embarrassed.

There is no need to be wary of him anymore, I told myself. I have to talk to him. I want to be his friend again. A good friend...But will he take my hand in friendship again? What if he feels uncomfortable near me?

There's only one way to find out.

"Kiku, I ‐"
"Ve~ (Y/n), are you done with the vegetables?" Feliciano asked me.
"Yes, here," I passed him the chopped vegetables.
"Ve~ Thank you, bella~"
I smiled.

When I turned to see Kiku, he wasn't there.

I frowned. Maybe I lost my only chance of amity with him.

"(Y/n)..." I didn't notice Yao was looking at me with a frown.

With all the food ready after some time, Ivan and Arthur arranged them in the cleaned lunch boxes. The other three who were instructed to prepare stuff for entertainment, brought outdoor games and a small karaoke set for the outing.

We packed them all and got ready to go out. We met outside after getting ready and headed towards the Cherry Blossom forest in a good mood.
