My eyes went wide. My face instantly became flustered on the thought of spending some time with Kiku.
"Will it be okay if I come along?" he asked.
"Of course, aru! Right, (Y/n)?"
"I...well...umm..." I stammered. I couldn't even get the words out!"So, it's settled then! Japan will come with us, aru!" Yao cheerfully declared.
Thus, the three of us ended up walking through the long corridor in silence. I was too ashamed to speak up, Kiku quietly kept on walking while Yao seemed to be unsettled by the silence. Finally, he spoke up.
"Aiyah, say something, aru!"
We turned to him, surprised. "What should we say?" Kiku asked.
"Anything, aru!"On Yao's insistence, I decided to start up a conversation.
"Umm...Kiku, what are your hobbies?" I mustered all my courage to ask him.
"Oh, I like to learn about new things from other countries. It makes me very curious and interested," he replied calmly.
"I see..."We walked in silence once again. Yao again lost his cool.
"And, aru?!"
Kiku took the hint from his tone that he wanted him to continue. "And I like to eat various kinds of food, but my favorite is Japanese."
"Mine too...but I never had Japanese before...but I want to try," I said.
"You haven't tried Japanese food before yet it's your favourite, aru?"
"Well...I..." I blushed.Even though I didn't know much about Japan, I still loved everything about him. His food, his clothes, his manners and even his country's anime.
We came by a room from which the sound of piano being played came.
"I know who that is, aru!" Saying this, Yao pushed open the door revealing a grand piano kept at the centre of the room. A dark-haired man wearing noble clothes and spectacles was playing the piano. Beside him, a beautiful woman with wavy brown hair stood with her eyes closed, listening intently to the music.
I must admit, he was playing the piano beautifully. Every chord of the music hit my heart. We quietly listened, even Yao.
When the music stopped, the man turned to us. "Oh my, it seems like we have some visitors."
"Yes, Mr. Austria. It seems so too!" the beautiful lady clasped her hands in delight."Umm, are you Austria?" I asked him.
"Yes, indeed I am. My name is Roderich Edelstein. And she is Hungary," he said, pointing towards the woman.
"But you may call me Elizabeta, dear," she smiled at me.
"It's a pleasure to meet such a happy couple. I am (Y/n).""C-Couple?!" The two of them looked at each other and then averted their gaze, blushing. Roderich cleared his throat. "It's nothing like that, young lady."
"Oh, I see...""But weren't you two married once, aru?" Yao asked, slightly tilting his head.
"What?!" I gasped."No, no, it's nothing like that!" Elizabeta waved her hands, indicating 'no'.
"Are we disturbing your privacy?" I asked.
"No, it's nothing - "
"I think we should leave them be, aru. Let's go (Y/n) and Japan!"He dragged us out of the room and closed the door behind us.
Next, Yao showed me the dining-room, the hall, the kitchen and the separate balconies. The Hetalia Mansion was enormous!
As we were walking through the corridor again, Yao kept on talking about the pandas at his place. I giggled at his every word. But Kiku was still silent.
"And there was one time when all the small pandas climbed onto me all at once, aru!"
"That's really amusing. Right, Kiku?" I turned to him.
"Hmm," he quietly replied. All of a sudden Yao's expressions turned grim. "And there was one time, a scary person disguised himself as a panda and stalked me..."
"Really? Who was it?" I asked.
"Russia, aru.""You kolled?"
"Aiyaah!!" Yao shrieked in fear as a tall man wearing a white scarf, came out of nowhere! Even I got scared. Kiku, however, maintained his composure.
"So my friends, were you talking about me, da?" the man asked, smiling. But I swear I could see a creepy dark aura surrounding him.
"What? Me? No, aru! I was just showing (Y/n) around the mansion!"
"(Y/n)?" Then his eyes landed on me.
"Ahh...so you are the guest everyone is talking about, da?" he said, still smiling."Umm...yes...it's a pleasure to meet you...sir," I said, shivering.
"You can kol me Ivan Braginsky, da! By the way, I have a question for you..."
"Yes?"He spread his arms wide. "Would you like to become one with Mother Russia, da?"
I stood there, stupefied.
"(Y/n)? (Y/n)! She's not responding, aru!" Yao started shaking me vigorously. I snapped out of my astonished state. "I...uh...well..."
"I would love to become one with my big brother..."
We heard a girl's voice. All of a sudden, the Russian man started shivering. Was he frightened?!
A girl peeked her head out from one of the doors. "I would love to marry my big brother..." she said in a low, spooky voice.
"Aaahhh!!! Belarus, stay away from me!!" Saying this, Ivan dashed off to the other direction while the girl followed him at inhumane speed.
"Who was that?" I asked after they left.
"That was Belarus, aru. Russia's younger sister."
"Is everyone in their family so...creepy?"
Yao laughed. "Their elder sister, Ukraine, is different aru!"We continued on our way. All this time, Kiku didn't say a word. Was he finding it boring? Did he...find me boring? The thought upset me. Yao took a glance at me.
As we passed by another door, we heard a weird noise coming from inside.
"Santara baadara uinzaana uonpaatourana intekantera..."
We sweatdropped. What was happening inside?
"I'll go check, aru." Yao carefully opened the door. It was dark inside. I entered behind him when suddenly my foot hit something, causing a sound.
"Who's there?!" Came a voice from inside. The lights were turned on and I saw Arthur wearing a black cape and a witch's hat on his head.
We all looked at each other, surprised.
"W-What are you all doing here?!" Arthur said, clearly embarrassed.
"What are YOU doing here, aru?"Clearing his throat, Arthur spoke up. "I was just...looking for some books here! Yes!"
"Then what was that noise that we heard from outside?" I asked him.
"Noise? Ptt...you must be mistaken, love. Now I need you all to go outside, I have some...work to attend to!"Saying this, he pushed us out of the room and shut the door behind us.
"Ahem...If you don't mind, may I excuse myself?" Kiku asked politely.
"Uh sure, Japan aru!"I watched him from behind as he walked away. Yao tapped my shoulder lightly. "(Y/n)? Can I talk to you for a moment, aru?"
"Yes, Yao?"
"Not here."We went to my room. Yao closed the door behind us and then turned to me.
"(Y/n), by any chance...do you love Japan?"
