Letting You Touch My Heart

Back in my room, I was smiling at the little panda doll that Yao had presented me earlier and placed a gentle kiss on it.

I have finally decided. I will tell Yao about my feelings for him before he does.

I don't want to keep being ignorant of it any longer. I admit, I love him. And my love for him has only kept growing day by day.

His cheerful smile...his kind personality...his caring heart...Whenever I thought about them, my heart raced faster and I felt a comforting warmth from inside.

All this time, I was oblivious to my own feelings and tried to persuade myself as if it was nothing. But not anymore.

I took in a deep breath and stood up from my seat when suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted me.

Was it Yao?

I happily went to open the door for him but met with disappointment when I found it was not him who stood before me.

"Good afternoon, Miss (Y/n)," Kiku bowed.
"Oh, good morning, Kiku," I half-heartedly smiled.

The Japanese man looked at me, intrigued. "Did something happen? You look upset," he asked.

"H-Huh?"

No, I can't act like this towards others because of my own silly expectations. Shaking my head, I gave Kiku a bright smile. "It's nothing, Kiku. Would you like to come in?"

I watched in surprise as Kiku seemed to blush and quietly nodded in reply.

This may be the first time he agreed to enter my room. I wonder what he needed to talk to me about?

Stepping inside, he turned to me and spoke. "There has been something that I have had on my mind for some time now. If you would please hear me out." His dark eyes gleamed with unsettleness.

I stared at him, worried. "What happened, Kiku?"

He looked away, hesitating to speak at first. But then finally spoke.

"Miss (Y/n), do you still remember the time you confessed to me?"

My eyes widened at those words.

How could I not remember it? The time when all my hopes and dreams were crushed within a few moments. I looked down with a heavy heart.

"Yes, I do."

Kiku finally looked at me and took a step back. Suddenly, he gave a deep bow.

"I sincerely apologize for that time, Miss (Y/n)!" he said aloud.

I got taken aback. "K-Kiku?"

What got into him all of a sudden? That was a long time ago, and we were already friends beyond that.

"Please forgive me," he maintained his position and kept apologizing.

"Kiku, you don't have anything to apologize for. I respect your feelings, so I'm not mad at you," I told him.

Standing straight, Kiku tenderly looked at me.

"Thank you very much, Miss (Y/n). I knew you would have the heart to forgive me," he said softly.

I giggled.

"Was this what you came here for to say?" I smiled.

"No, there was another thing," he shyly said.
"What is it?"

Kiku gazed at me longingly before stepping closer. I stood there speechless in my place as he leaned forward and gently touched his lips with mine.

My entire body went numb. Pulling away, he stroked my cheek and smiled lovingly.

"I love you, Miss (Y/n)."
