An Idle Day or...?

After a long time I found myself idly wandering around the mansion and relaxing.

Having nothing much to do, I decided to spend some time with the countries in the living room.

Speaking of which, where did Yao go all of a sudden?

Not knowing where to find him, I walked towards the living room to ask them about his whereabouts. On reaching the door, I turned the knob and opened it.

"Huh?"

That's weird. There was no one here.

I walked in and sat on one of the sofas, waiting for someone to come in. Yet even after a while, no one entered. I closed my eyes for a moment but quickly opened them when I heard a noise.

I looked around but found nothing unusual, when suddenly my eyes landed on the opposite wall.

All the photos of the countries...were gone!

I went closer to the wall to inspect closely. That's impossible. The photos were here when I entered a while ago, where did they go all of a sudden?

I decided to tell about this to someone. Leaving the room, I looked around the entire mansion, but found not a single soul.

"Yao?? Alfred?? Where are you all? Miss Elizabeta??"

I called out their names while running through the corridor, but no one responded.

I felt a pit form in my stomach. It's as if they all just vanished, never to be seen again. Leaving me behind all alone.

I slowly stopped in my tracks and fell on my knees. Beads of tears formed in the corners of my eyes.

"Not even you too, Yao. You promised to be there for me," I quietly weeped till everything around me went pitch black.

Suddenly, I felt a light tap on my shoulder. "And I'll always be there for you, no matter what, aru."

I opened my eyes and looked behind me instantly, but couldn't find Yao anywhere. I put a hand on the shoulder where I felt his touch.

Shaking my head, I made up my mind. I will find everyone. As I wiped off my tears and ran in the unrecognizable darkness again, I found a ray of warm light ahead of me growing bigger.

"Even in my nightmare, you looked after me, Yao. Thank you. I lov-"

The light surrounded me and engulfed me in it's comforting warmth.

"(Y/n)...(Y/n)!!"

My eyes opened wide as I sat up to look around me. I was back on the sofa in the normal living room and Yao was standing beside me.

"What happened, (Y/n) aru?" Yao looked at me confused.

I turned to him and shook my head. "It's nothing. I just had a nightmare," I reassured him, smiling.

"Aiyah! If you ever have a nightmare again, tell me, aru! I'll come and save you!" Yao grinned.
I giggled. "I know."

I know you will, Yao. Even if I don't tell you...

"Oh! (Y/n), the meeting for the Asian countries is in a few days, aru," he informed.
"Really? The one I was invited to as well?" I asked him.
"Shì! That's why..."

Yao took out two tickets from his clothes and winked at me. "I'll be taking you to China before the meeting," he said.

I looked at him, surprised.

"Are we really going, Yao?" I asked.

He nodded. "The meeting is going to take place in my country this time, so we can go before others and show you around."

"And I'll..." Yao blushed. "be really happy to see you wear a qipao or hanfu. You'll look beautiful in all of them," he beamed.

Heat rose on my cheeks as his touching words made my heart beat faster. I gave him a bright smile as I nodded.

Yao may not know this, but he is always there for me when I need him, even when I couldn't call for him. And I want to be there for him whenever he needs me too.

For now, I can only hope for Yao's happiness and smile to never leave him.
