I arranged my clothes in the dresser again. I sighed as I realized what a big mistake I was about to make. I had made a promise to Yao and I was supposed to keep it...But instead, I tried to run away.
But...what purpose do I have now? All I ever wanted in my life was for Kiku to love me back. That's why I came here. However, all of those desires have met their end now.
"Yao was right. Not everyone gets what they desire..." I thought out aloud.
"Not true, aru."
I turned around and saw Yao standing by the door. He came inside and started helping me put my clothes back in my dresser.
"You know, (Y/n). Sometimes we may not get all our desires fulfilled, aru...but when all hope is lost, there is still faith that remains in our heart."
"Faith?"
"Yes, aru. Faith that there is still a chance for you to start your life in a new direction. Bùyào túláo de hòuhuí nì de guòqù."
"What does that mean, Yao?"
He smiled. "It is an old Chinese saying, aru. 'Don't vainly regret your past'. So (Y/n), look ahead of you and see your bright future, aru. And don't forget to follow your heart just like you always do."
A smile crossed my face. "Thank you, Yao. Talking to you always calms my heart..."
He looked at me and then averted his gaze, smiling shyly.
"That's good, aru! When the heart is at ease, the body is healthy too!"
"That's right. Whe‐" I blushed as I saw what Yao was holding in his hands. "Y‐Yao!"
He was still looking away. He turned to me as I called his name. Following my gaze, his face turned a bright shade of red as he saw that he was holding my lingerie.
"W‐What?! I‐I'm sorry, (Y/n)!!" he said as he put the thing inside the dresser.
Although I was embarrassed, I broke into laughter. Yao was seriously so clumsy sometimes! He laughed nervously too. But then he came closer to me and held my hand. I looked at him, surprised.
"Always be happy like this, (Y/n)," he whispered, his face still holding a blush.
I felt a soft blush growing on my own cheeks too. I did not realize that we kept looking at each other for a long time. Gently squeezing my hand, he came closer to me, narrowing the distance between us. He leaned forward so that our faces were now right in front of each other.
"(Y/n), I want to say something to you, aru..."
"Y‐Yes, please say..." I whispered softly.
"I ‐ "
Just then a knock on the door interrupted us. The door swung open and Antonio entered.
"Hey (Y/n), lunch is ready and we ‐ " he stopped as he saw me and Yao so close to each other.
He stared at us with a nervous look. "I really have a bad sense of timing, don't I?"
Yao nodded.
I sweatdropped."Haha...I think...I should go...See ya!" He ran out.
Yao sighed. Then he turned to me with a smiling face. "Let's go have lunch now, (Y/n)!"
"Yes!" I smiled. We went together, still holding hands. His warm and strong hands made me feel secure. With Yao...maybe I can find a whole new path before me. As long as he is with me...
