Yao bought the dress for me and insisted that I keep wearing it. I glanced down at the dress I wore and smiled.

It was really gorgeous!

"Thank you so much, Yao!" I bowed before him, expressing my deep gratitude.
"Aiyah! You don't have to bow to me, aru!"

I looked up to see Yao pouting. He was so cute like that!

I softly giggled. "Okay."

Yao and I began strolling around the town again. We looked around till he mentioned that he wanted to show me a place. He held my hand and took me through a few lanes.

I followed him till we reached a small enclosure. On pushing aside a tree branch for me, Yao took me inside.

It was a small garden.

The garden was enclosed by various trees on all almost all sides, with a pond filled with lotuses and liliies rested at the centre. An assortment of bamboos lined against the side of the pond along with a pavilion standing beside it.

"This is our town's secret garden, aru. We all sometimes come here," Yao explained.

"Wow..." the graceful beauty of the place stunned me.

We walked into the pavilion and leaned against the wooden fencing, looking down at the water.

The clear water reflected our forms, sometimes forming ripples when a carp fish occasionally swam to the surface. I never imagined to see such a calming place with my own eyes.

"(Y/n)?"

Yao turned to me, smiling. "You never have to thank me for anything aru." I looked at him, confused.

"B-But why, Yao?"

He turned his gaze away. I noticed a deep blush on his face. "Because..."

I gulped as I waited for his answer. A soft breeze blew the locks of his hair that fell on his face.

Letting out a deep breath, Yao looked at me with his usual cheerful smile.

"Because I care about you, aru," he said.

I frowned. That's it, Yao? You only...care about me? You don't feel anything deeper than that for me?

Disappointed, I lowered my head.

"And if I could ever show you how much I care about you, I'm afraid you would shy away, aru."

My head shot towards him.

He smiled at me mischievously.

My face grew hot hearing that. It was unfair how he could say things like that so easily. If only I could...

"I-I...Y-Yao, when is the m-meeting?" I tried to change the topic, embarrassed.

"Oh, the meeting?" Yao scratched the back of his neck nervously. "A letter came from my boss this morning and...it's tomorrow, aru," he replied.

Tomorrow?!

I cleared my throat and with a shaky voice, I practised to myself. "N-Nice to meet y-you. My n-name..."

"Aiyah! Don't worry, aru! You will be alright!" Yao took my hands in his. I almost trembled from the thought of attending such an important meeting.

Finally, Yao managed to calm me down.

"Don't be scared, (Y/n) aru! You can do it!" he gave me a confident thumbs up.

I weakly smiled.

I hope Yao is right. I can do it.

But...why was I even invited to this meeting? Why did Yao's boss want to meet me?

Questions after questions came to my mind but looking at Yao's smiling face right next to me, my heart calmed down a little.

All questions will be answered soon.
