"Wake up craphead." My eyes open and see Tyler's happy face above me. "We're here." he says, grinning his famous grin. He messes up my hair and sets my chair back to regular reclination. How the hell did I not wake up when the plane hit the ground? I must have been passed out. "Joe and Caspar should be here to pick us up by the time we get to the parking lot." Tyler explained. "Awesome." I respond.
Tyler and I had so many suitcases, well, atleast I did, that it was unreal. We were going to be in the UK for a while, so I guess it wasn't super unreasonable, but I may have been able to cope with fewer clothing items. We were currently walking through the airport, leaving our gate. Tyler was much ahead of me. "Connor you're so slow." I heard him say from a distance. "Sorry!" I yelled in responce trying to hurry up. I loved listening to the sound of the wheels of my suitcase rolling over the cracks in the tiles. I like the sound as much as someone likes the sound of high heels walking through a hallway, just to give you an idea. I eventually caught up with Tyler. "It's about time." Tyler looks at me and smiles. I roll my eyes and we remain silent as we walk through the airport.
As Tyler and I are about to leave the airport and enter the parking lot, my phone rings. "Hello?"
"Hey Connor!" I recognize the South African accent. "Caspar!"
"Hey man we just got here, are you in the parking lot?"
"Yeah, where are you guys?"
"Joe and I just got here in a taxi so we're at the entrance."
"Okay we'll meet you there."
"Okay cool man I'll see you soon."
"Alright awesome." Caspar hung up before me. "What did he say?" Tyler turned to me. "He just said that him and Joe pulled up at the entrance and they're waiting in a taxi for us." He smiled and nodded at me. His hair was a beautiful mix of blue and green, but there at the tip, a slight portion of yellow. The colors all blended so well. He also had a perfect quiff, which made no sense to me because he had just woken up and had to no time to even fix his hair. My hair was probably a wreck right now. This made me think about why we hadn't gone to the bathroom to clean up. I guess it was too late now. Tyler and I soon came to the entrance of the parking lot. Tyler's phone beeped. Tyler didn't say a word and just showed me his phone. Joe had texted him, "We see you, wait where you are so we can come get you."
We waited for about twenty seconds until we saw Joe and Caspar approach us. From the distance we saw them at, they were already reaching out their arms for a hug. Tyler and I walked closer to them and soon we were all hugging each other. All of our smiles were so big. This was what happiness truly felt like.
"You guys must be exhausted." Joe said. We had been in the car for a good thirty minutes now. "I know I am." Tyler said. I felt left out so I responded. "Yeah." Although I was anything but tired, I was wide awake.
