Troye coming back to LA to stay with me wasn't as big of a surprise as when he did it for the first time. This was solely for the reason being that I had to pick him up from the airport. I greeted Troye at the baggage claim and we exchanged hugs and kisses, of course, after making sure no fans were around. Though Troye was excited to see me, he looked like he was about to fall asleep. "Troye, you look flushed, are you okay?"
"I'm okay, just exhausted."
"Alright, let's get back to my apartment so you can sleep." It was almost eleven pm, which was good. Troye wouldn't be jet lagged.
The two of us walked to my car. I carried most of Troye's luggage. Troye was definitely carrying enough under his eyes. The bags under Troye's eyes were noticeable even from a relatively far distance. He really needed sleep.
As I drove us back to my apartment I told Troye to try to sleep in the car ride, but he wanted to stay awake to catch up with me, and what I had been doing. "Well," I started "I've been missing you. That's about it." Troye smiled in my direction. "I've been missing you too, Connor." We both went on about how much we missed each other for the next few minutes until we fell into a comfortable silence. This silence was interrupted by Troye yelling "Shit!"
"Is everything okay?" I asked him concerned.
"I need to upload a video. I haven't in so long. I have one recorded, I just need to upload it."
"If you want to sleep, I can upload it for you when we get to my apartment."
"That would be really nice." The two of us fell back into a silence, so I slowly reached out to the radio button and pressed it. "Stitches" by Shawn Mendes was on. I loved the song, but it just played so often to the point where it was a bit difficult for me to like it. I turned the volume down a little bit to maintain the relaxed environment. Troye sang along. His voice was a little raspy, but it sounded hot. I sang too. Together we sounded pretty good.
The song finally ended, and at that moment, we found ourselves on a highway. It was a completely empty highway because it was almost midnight. Then, "Youth" came on the radio. I could tell that Troye's heart had dropped, because mine did too. I looked at him and smiled. We rolled down the windows and turned the volume all the way up. I opened up the sun roof on my car and we both felt the air through our hair and all throughout the car. We were both screaming out the lyrics. Troye stood on his seat so his whole upper body was through the sun roof. I looked at him through the rear view mirror. His arms were up, and he was still shouting the lyrics. I was shouting the lyrics too and I had one hand out of my window, the other on the steering wheel. I looked back at the rear view mirror and watched Troye. Pure happiness. This moment-- right now-- felt like something from a movie.
We arrived back at my apartment around eleven forty five. Troye got into pajamas and met me on the sofa in my living room with his laptop. I dimmed the lights a little bit so the room felt relaxing and calm. He typed in his password and handed me his Mac. "It should be in the 'New Videos' folder." He explained to me. Troye got a blanket and sprawled out across my sofa. His head rested on my thigh, because I was sitting up on one end of the sofa. "Okay." I said to him. I looked for it, and found the video not long after. I looked over at Troye, and tapped his nose. He didn't acknowledge it, so I assumed he was asleep. The video was called "The Whole Story". I watched it with one bar of volume before uploading it. I tried to keep the noise down so Troye wouldn't wake up.
As the video was uploading, I looked at the folder right under "New Videos". It said "Blue Neighbourhood", under that there was "Wild", and under that "TRXYE". I opened the Blue Neighbourhood folder and found "for him". After smiling stupidly, I felt like listening to some of his older songs, so I clicked on the TRXYE folder and clicked the first song in the folder. I figured that the whole folder would play. But inside the TRXYE folder, there was another folder. A sub-folder. It was titled "Reject". Out of curiosity, I opened the folder to find one song. The song was titled "Blue Moon."
