I sprawled out across my sofa hugging my phone and thinking about Troye. 'Was I just not interesting enough to talk to?' It was around noon, and I was starving, but I didn't feel like leaving the house. After about five minutes of drowning myself in unrealistic thoughts, I finally brought myself to get up and look inside the fridge, which, to my surprise, had absolutely nothing that looked even remotely appetizing. Sighing, I walked to my room and put on a racer tank and some jeans. I sighed again, picking up my wallet and keys off of my kitchen counter. I then sighed once more, opening my front door and looking back dramatically into my apartment in thoughts of not wanting to leave. I sighed one last time getting inside of my car and sitting down. I was going to just drive to Walmart, because it was really close by, but I didn't really like Walmart, so I drove the extra mile to Trader Joe's.
When I arrived at Trader Joe's, I immediately started walking towards the chips and pretty much just all junk foods section. I hated eating sugar and stuff, but I was really in the mood for something snackish. As I was looking through the selection of chips, I heard a gasp come from my right side. 'A fan', I thought. I smiled and turned to my right. A little girl, who looked about the age of twelve, had a face full of red and a huge smile stretched out across her face. I reached out my arms for a hug and she ran into my arms. "I love you so much." She said while we were hugging. Her voice broke a bit so I could sense that she was about to cry. "I love you too." If there's one thing I've ever learned in my lifetime, it's that you should never be the first to release from a hug. You don't know how long that person may need it.
The girl finally let go after he mom called her over. I don't think her mom was okay with her hugging an older man that she had never seen in her life. I could sense that her mom was probably quite a bit angry. She began to walk away until I said "Wait," the girl turned back around, "what's your name?" The girl's eyes glistened. "My name is Marissa." She responded, sniffling. "Do you want a picture Marissa?" She nodded, until replying, "I do, but I don't have a phone." I smiled sympathetically. Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I explained, "Here, let's take a picture on my phone, and I can email it to you."
"Really?"
"Yes, but can you promise me something, Marissa?"
"Hm?"
"You can't give my email away, okay?"
"Yes of course! I promise!"
"Okay." I smiled and took a selfie with her on my phone. Marissa gave me her email and I sent her the picture. We said our goodbyes, and I continued shopping for chips and other snacks.
I'd ended up buying a whole bunch of things. I got a ton of tortilla chips, with many different kinds of salsas. I also got some hummus, organic carrots, whole grain bread, turkey, and a ton of fruits. I then decided to go to Kroger and buy a sandwich. On my way to Kroger, I thought about all of this food that I had just bought, but I was in the mood for a meal, not just a snack, and I also didn't feel like making my own sandwich. 'Man,' I thought in the car, 'I wish Nicola was here, she's a great cook.' I pulled up into the Kroger parking lot and walked into the store to get a sandwich. Before I left, I remembered that I had been out of oatmeal, so I picked up some oatmeal on the way out.
After driving for a bit, I pulled into my apartment complex, noticing a bright yellow taxi parked one building down from mine, but getting ready to leave. I then proceeded to ignore it and park outside my building. I got all of my bags from the trunk and walked up to my front door. I then noticed a tall shadowy figure with curly hair walk out from behind a wall. He began to speak, "Do you need help carrying anything Connor?" 'The accent.' I thought. 'Connah.' I dropped all of my bags on the floor and opened up my arms for a hug from Troye. We hugged, and hugged. We hugged for so long that I felt the time pass by around us. I didn't want to let go. "Troye, what the hell are you doing in America?" We were still hugging as we were talking. I felt Troye's thumb rub my back around my shoulder blade. "I told you already. Connor, I wasn't trying to avoid you, I just wanted to surprise you."
"You little shit."
Troye laughed at me. I looked up at him and we made eye contact. I placed my hand on his face around his cheek and jawline. "You're so god damn tall, you know?"
"Being the taller one in the relationship shows dominance."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Because I thought that being stronger shows dominance." I picked up Troye off of the ground. "Connor!" He shouted at me. "Put me down!" Troye was yelling, but laughing. This would probably look so weird to anyone watching. Still holding Troye, I unlocked the door to my apartment and took him inside placing him on the sofa. "Who's the dominant one now TroyeSivan18?" I said, walking out of my apartment door to pick up the grocery bags that I had dropped. "You're definitely something Connor."
"Something?"
"Something special." I joined Troye on the sofa after placing the grocery bags on the kitchen counter. He was sitting up, so I sat next to him and put my arm around him with out hesitation. Troye looked at me, smiling. I quickly glanced away from Troye to look at my front door, checking whether it was locked or not. It was locked. "Is everything okay?" He asked. "Yeah, just checking if the front door was locked."
"Oh okay."
"It is."
"Cool." I placed my hand on Troye's face again and leaned in towards him. We kissed for about twenty seconds until Troye started laughing. I pulled away, smiling. "What's funny?" I asked grinning. "I left my luggage outside." We both laughed and ran out of my apartment to pick up Troye's bags. Once we were back in my apartment, we both set down his bags and stared at each other. "God Connor, you're so cute." Troye said to me. "God Troye, you're my weakness."
