After breakfast, Troye and I went to the grocery store. I loved meeting fans, but I really hoped that I wouldn't see any. The only reason being, Troye and I were together.
We both entered the store together. I immediately went to grab some avocados from the big pit full of them, and dropped them into a plastic bag before placing them into my cart. "Tro-" I turned around to face Troye, but he wasn't there. "Troye?" I spun around in circles stupidly looking for him. After being concerned for five minutes, I decided to call him. I looked down at my feet while resting my head on the handle of the cart as the phone rang, until I heard a large crash into my cart.
Almost dropping my phone, I looked up to find Troye standing right in front of me. He had dropped two jars of Nutella, a bag of flour, a bottle of vanilla extract, a can of whipped cream, a small cylindrical box of icing, a bag baking powder, and a huge bag of sugar into the cart. He then said "I assume you have the rest of the stuff we need at home."
"What? The rest of the stuff for what exactly?"
"For a cake."
"A cake?"
"Yeah! Let's bake, Con."
"Sugar is the devil." Troye punched my arm and rolled the cart towards the checkout line. "Wait! Troye, I'm not done shopping yet." I laughed as I chased after him.
I finished getting everything I needed and finally proceeded to check out.
When Troye and I got back to my apartment, we put all of the vegetables and fruits where they needed to go before sorting out what we needed to bake. "Okay Troye, what do we need to make a cake?"
"I mean, I'm absolute shit at baking, I thought you'd know."
"Should we just guesstimate?" I asked, sounding overly monotone.
"Yep."
"I mean we could look something up online."
"Nah, that's no fun."
"Okay Troye, but this cake is going to taste awful because I really can't bake either."
"We'll make an effort."
I took out some butter, eggs, and milk from the fridge. "How many eggs do you think we'll need?" I asked as I went over to the oven to pre-heat it. I then proceeded to grab the salt container out of the cabinet beside the fridge. I didn't like this idea of not having structure to baking this cake. But Troye was happy, so I was happy too.
"Um......two? Maybe three?" I laughed. "We'll try three." This was going to be the biggest waste of food supplies.
I gave Troye a large bowl from one of the cabinets. He looked at me confusedly. "Is there a certain order you're supposed to put things in the bowl?" He asked.
"I think there might be, but if we're going to mix it all together anyway, I don't think it should matter."
I watched Troye struggle to open the egg carton before going back to the cabinet to take out a deep, circular, pan. As I was looking into the cabinet, Troye said "God, this bag of flour is heavy." I turned around to throw Troye a little smirk. He looked up at me and smiled. His arms were so shaky while pouring in the flour that it was actually unbelievable. I turned back around to continue looking for the pan after laughing for a little. Little did I know that would be the last time I would see him and recognize him.
Holding the circular pan in my hands I turned around while speaking. "I found the pa-"
It literally looked like it had just snowed in my kitchen. "Troye." I said to him. Troye's whole upper body was covered in flour. "How did this even happen?"
"I'm very flimsy."
"Well, you did spill red wine on Ingrid's couch that one time."
"THAT'S IN MY PAST." Troye and I both started laughing, and as we laughed, the flour continued to spread around the rest of my apartment.
After about an hour and a half of cleaning, we got rid of the flour. We also managed to finish the cake and put it into the oven. Troye and I both squatted down next to the oven, looking inside and watching it rise. "How do you think it's gonna taste?" I asked Troye, sneaking a glance at him. His eyes were fixed on the oven. "Hopefully not terrible."
When the oven finally beeped after thirty minutes, Troye and I got overly excited. Even though the pan and cake were super hot, we decided to put frosting on it anyway. I don't know how we even managed to get it out of the pan, but we did.
Once the cake was frosted, we topped it off with some whipped cream, and I put two strawberries on the top. I got a knife out of the drawer and cut two small pieces of the cake for the two of us. Troye got out two plates and two forks. "The moment of truth." He said to me as we both sat down at the table. I put a piece of the cake on my fork and Troye did the same. "Cheers." He said. We both raised our forks with cake on them and tapped them against each other. At the same time, we put the cake in our mouths. We chewed for a minute and fixed a stare on each other. "This isn't too bad." Troye said forcing a hint of optimism.
"Yeah it is."
"Okay, yeah, you're right."
"Wanna go buy a cake from the store?"
"I think that's best."
"Okay let's go."

Author's Note:
Stupid little chapter but I hope you guys enjoyed XD
This was honestly so relaxing to write and really helped me get my mind off of things when I started it last night. Yesterday was a pretty awful day, but today's been great. Everyone has good and bad days.
I hope you guys don't get annoyed with these little notes at the end because they're really just here for me to say thank you and sometimes inform you with what might be going on in my life or something.
While I was writing, I listened to this song called "Once In A While" by Timeflies on loop, and I really recommend it for anyone who may be feeling down. It's a happy, fun, and upbeat song that literally anyone can jam out to, no matter what kind of taste in music you have :)
Anyway, thanks for reading! <3
