After everyone was settled down about the whole Apple Watch prank, we discussed what was going to be going on later in the afternoon. I sipped on a mug full of coffee at the breakfast table as Sage was talking about who she was going to invite over to their house. "Sage," Laurelle began, "it's a house party, not a full on night club." Sage rolled her eyes and laughed, proceeding to walk off to a part of the house that was not visible as far as I could see.
Apparently a party was going to be taking place at the Mellets' residence for absolutely no reason. I didn't have an issue with this, it was just kind of random. A good random, though.
"I'll be making kabobs." I heard Shaun say over the phone to someone. Troye giggled a little.
After a few hours passed by, everyone was helping set up plates and food and all of that party stuff across tables. This proceeded until we heard a patterned knock on the front door. "Is someone here already?" I asked Troye, who was putting out a stack of cups. "I don't know."
Before Troye could open the door, the door was opened by the person knocking. "GUESS WHO'S HOME?"
"Blessing?" Blessing dropped his luggage bags on the welcome mat and embraced Troye before Troye could greet him properly. Troye's face projected an overly shocked emotion, that quickly molded into a happy laughing emotion. Troye hugged Blessing back and began to speak. "How are you? It's been so long!" Blessing laughed. I decided to stay away for a while and allow them to catch up. I continued to set up food at the table, occasionally eavesdropping on Blessing and Troye to see if they were anywhere near finished with talking to each other. Although every time I listened, they were getting deeper and deeper into a conversation. 'It's okay, they just haven't seen each other in a while.' I thought.
I kept that thought in mind as I set up all of the food and utensils on my own. I kept that thought in mind as I watched others enter the house. I kept that thought in mind as the sun set. I kept that thought in mind as I sat on the sofa sipping punch from a cup, alone, watching Troye and Blessing's conversation continue as if it were endless. I kept that thought in mind.
I looked down at my cup for a while because my eyes had memorized every detail of Troye and Blessing at this point. I'd been watching them from afar for so long. I was soon greeted by a friendly voice. "Connor?" I fixed my eyes on where the voice was coming from, Laurelle. "Connor, sweetie, have you eaten?"
"Oh, uh, no....haha not yet."
"Well Shaun made some really good kabobs if you're hungry." I laughed. "Oh, ha yeah, I'll be sure to try them."
"Okay." Laurelle began to get up, but midway she sat back down on the sofa. "Connor?"
"Yes?"
"Are you okay?"
"Um....yeah. Yeah I'm fine."
"Connor?"
"Well.........no. No not really."
"I sensed something was wrong."
"Um yeah....haha it's not that big of a deal, really."
"What is it?" I glanced at Troye and Blessing laughing hysterically together on the sofa furthest from me. Laurelle looked in the direction I was looking in and understood what I was hinting at. "Aw Connor, you know, Blessing and Troye.....they haven't seen each other in a while." I kept that thought in mind.
