Time had really gone by, I hadn't seen Troye in more than forever, or at least for longer than I could bare. This long distance relationship was turning out to be harder than expected. But today, I was excited.
Troye was coming to America, more specifically my apartment, for VidCon preparations. Today we were going to go to the Anaheim Convention Center to figure out what panels we had, and who we shared them with. I was praying to share one with Troye.
I drove to the airport, almost getting into an accident, numerous times. I was so jittery. I didn't know if it was me being nervous, or excited, or what it was. It wasn't like I hadn't talked to Troye in months, we always had Skype calls, I only hadn't seen him in months. I just hoped it wouldn't be awkward when we saw each other after such a huge time gap.
I knew Troye was excited too though, he told me that he was. Not only to announce his album at VidCon, but also to see me, and to be with me.
When I reached the airport, I turned down the radio volume in my car and found a parking spot close by the exit, so it was easy to see Troye when he came. I texted him telling him I was at the airport waiting and he responded, "I'm legit running I can't wait to see u" I smiled and looked up at the door again to watch for Troye.
After about two minutes, I saw the tall, pale, curly haired, South African run out of the door with his hair flopping, and suit cases rolling directly behind his feet. For a while I was worried that he would trip because of his suitcases, but when he was really close to my car I started to think otherwise. He looked so cute running.
I took off my seatbelt and got out of my car to greet Troye. "CONNOR!" He yelled to me as he jumped into my arms. I lifted him up off of the ground and spun him around once, twice, three times. Thank god it wasn't awkward. "I missed you so much." I said to him as his head rested on my shoulder. "Me too, I honestly don't know how I survived."
I kissed Troye on the cheek before motioning to the car. We drove with the windows down, with the windy air filling the car. It was sunny outside, not a cloud in the sky. The birds were chirping, there were flowers growing all around, and there wasn't much traffic so we were driving on an open road. We were blasting music, and laughing occasionally at the way our hair looked with the wind whirling around messing it up. I was sitting next to the person I loved most. I felt the warm embrace of his presence. His awkward dance moves to the raving music in the car were adorable, and we were both the happiest we'd ever been. The way he smiled when our eyes met made me realize at this very moment, life couldn't get any better.
