Sitting in the taxi and twiddling my thumbs, I realized that nervousness was taking over. I loved new clothes, I loved shopping, but I was just so anxious as to what was going to happen tonight. I thought of what Joe said, 'So is it like a ball or something?' He didn't seem too excited asking about it either. I'd also developed the mindset that all taxi rides with Caspar and Joe in the UK were a little boring because we never really talked, but it was different with Zoe. She took out her camera and began to vlog. "So we are off to rent tuxedos for the boys because tonight we're going to a party!" The taxi driver turned to face Zoe confusedly. She faced her camera away from her, turned to the driver, and explained, "I always get this reaction from new taxi drivers haha. I'm a YouTuber, if that clears the air a little. In fact, we're all YouTubers, so I'm just doing a little vlog here, I hope you don't mind." The taxi driver shook his head and turned to face us, "Oh no no! Please proceed." He responded. I've always been a little embarrassed to vlog in front of people who didn't really know what I was doing. But Zoe, she didn't care. This was something she loved doing. She didn't care what others thought. Just like me, when I stand on chairs to get good pictures of food........although........maybe a little more appropriate.
After spending about twenty minutes in the taxi, we arrived at a Men's Warehouse. It was enormous. Tyler, Troye, and I filed out of the taxi first, followed by Louis, Zoe, Joe, Caspar, and Alfie. Caspar began to speak as we walked into the building. "I've got a tux back at our flat." Joe nodded in Caspar's direction. "Me too." The doors closed behind us and Alfie turned to Caspar and Joe. "So after we finish looking around, how about you two take a taxi back to your place, get dressed up, and we'll meet up at the dance place?" Caspar and Joe agreed. "Zoe, what's the name of the dance place I want to give them the address." Zoe handed Alfie two of the tickets. "The address is on here, just give them these tickets and tell them this is what they need to get in. The place is called 'Intricate & Lavish'." I laughed to myself a little bit. "Intricate & Lavish" ultimately meant "Fancy & Fancy", but whatever.
Looking around, the place was filled head to toe with really nice, but expensive, tuxedos. Tyler immediately went to look at the colorful tuxedos, but I wanted to stick to black and white. I felt so "grown up" walking around this store. I guess I technically was an adult, but I mean......it didn't really feel like I was. In the back of the store, the fitting rooms were literally just a room covered by a curtain. Anyone could walk in on you changing. I guess it was more convenient so you didn't have to open a door every single time to show someone what you were wearing, but still, privacy.
I walked around a section of tuxedos and ran my hand across them. There were so many. I didn't even know my own size. I pulled the tag from the back of my shirt to check the size. "Small". I looked at the tuxedo sizes again and instead of "small" it said "short", which offended me a little. I picked up a size "regular" because it looked more fitting than a "short" and went into the fitting room.
The fitting rooms were actually a lot nicer and spacious on the inside. They had a little area to sit and three huge full body mirrors. "Wow." I said out loud. There were also lights on the mirrors that automatically turned on when you stepped closer to it. 'Pretty Intricate and Lavish', I thought to myself. I even laughed a little. Wow Connor. Laughing at your own jokes. So cool. Wow.
I finished putting on my tuxedo and just began to fix up my tie the best I could. I then started messing with my hair to make it look nicer, since it had been messed up from changing. The tuxedo seemed to fit perfectly so I was probably going to get this one. I just had to figure out the pricing. Nothing was cheap. I took a good look at myself in the mirror and sighed. I then started to talk to myself. "Look at you Connor. Look. At. You." I posed a few times in front of the mirror before hearing Alfie's voice calling. "Come on out man! You've been in the fitting room forever." I slowly started to open the curtain in which I was hiding behind, looking down. Once I was completely out of the fitting room, I looked up. Troye, standing directly in front of me, although relatively far looked directly at me. He was wearing a tuxedo as well, and he looked good. He wouldn't take his eyes off of me, and I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He looked so handsome. It almost felt as if I were just walking down the aisle and getting married to him, and it was the best feeling in the world. Troye's smile was gigantic. "YOU LOOK SO HANDSOME CONNOR!" I heard Zoe yell. Tyler looked up from the tuxedo he was eyeing, and glanced at me, although he didn't seem too excited. Joe walked in my direction, clapping. Louis, Caspar, Zoe, and Alfie soon joined in on the clapping. Troye was still just looking at me, but then joined in. "You look fantastic Connor." I blushed. He started to speak again, "Sorry, I meant Fran-tastic." Laughing, I looked down, and then back up at him. "You're not too bad yourself, TroyeSivan18."
