George's POV:

The Chief is on the phone in the office behind the nurses station trying to get some answers. Apparently, something happened in OR 3. I don't know much but all we know is that Hannah, the paramedic, is missing. I see Izzie and Alex come up me.

Izzie: what's going on?
George: uh, something happened in OR 3.
Alex: what?
George: I don't know. All I know is that Hannah, the paramedic, she's missing.

I notice a look of worry come onto Alex's face and Izzie notices too.

Izzie: what is it Alex?
Alex: Mer and Del are in OR 3.

The second I hear Delilah's name, anxiety comes over me. I really hope Delilah isn't hurt. She's my best friend and I would hate myself if she got hurt.

Alex's POV:

When I realize that Meredith and Delilah are in OR 3, anxiety punches me in the face. Sure Meredith is my friend and I care about her, but Delilah... she's become my best friend. She's the one person who truly understands me better than anyone else. She's the one person who I'm not afraid to let my guard down in front of. She gets me. Suddenly, I realize that the last thing I told her before I took off with the surgical team was "it's your funeral". God, why did I say that? I feel like shit.

Alex: you better be okay Del.

Burke's POV:

I walk into OR 2 where Shepherd is operating on Bailey's husband.

Burke: Dr. Shepherd?
Derek: Dr. Burke!
Burke: how's it going?
Derek: he's got a second bleed under the skull base. If I do what the textbooks say, he could lose the power of speech, herniate through the first craniotomy and die.
Burke: what's your other option?
Derek: well if I do what I wanna do... he could lose the power of speech, herniate through the first craniotomy and die.
Burke: well, good luck with that.
Derek: thanks.

Shepherd turns to face me.

Derek: is there something you want?
Burke: you know it was really stupid if you not to evacuate.
Derek: you too.
Burke: yeah, I know.
Derek: we should consider a change in profession.

I let out a half chuckle.

Burke: yes, we should.
Derek: now, can you operate and remove the device from the guy?
Burke: after the bomb squad is through assessing him, I'm going to try.
Derek: gotta say, I don't wanna be the guy that kills Bailey's husband.
Burke: well, I don't wanna be the guy that kills us all.

Shepherd and I exchange a look.

Burke: Dr. Shepherd.
Derek: Dr. Burke.

Shepherd turns back to operate. I open my mouth to speak and tell Shepherd about Delilah but I knew I couldn't so I restrain. Although I don't like Shepherd that much, I don't want or need him freaking out about his daughter while trying to save Bailey's husband. If I tell him now, he won't be able to think about anything but Delilah. He loves his daughter more than anything and he'll be anxious. I walk out the door and to OR 3.

My POV:

Dylan helped put flak jackets on Meredith and Cristina and now, Dylan is slowly strapping a flak jacket on me.

Dylan: you realize how stupid that was.
Cristina: it was baby Shepherd. Incredibly stupid!
Meredith: okay, you know when you don't need to be made fun of? Like, when our best friend has her hand inside a body that's got a bomb in it and a stranger is Velcro-into a jacket to her boobs!
Cristina: okay.
Dylan: you've got a sense of irony,
Meredith: only when things are really ironic.

I turn my head towards Meredith and Cristina.

Delilah: oh my god. Mer... we had a feeling.

Cristina looks back and forth between Meredith and I and gives us both a 'I can't believe you'd say that' look.
