Today is Callie and Arizona's custody battle and as much as I want to stay neutral for the sake of Callie, I can't help but feel guilty about not being there for her.

I was getting ready for the day when I get a text from Maggie.

Mag Pie 😋: Sofia is asking for you. Can you come over?

Me: you don't have to ask. I'm taking the day off and I'm on my way ❤️ is Callie there?

Mag Pie 😋: she just left with Mer and Blake to the court house.

Me: I'm on my way ❤️

I get Xander all dressed up then we drive to Mer's. When we get there, I see Maggie and Sofia in the kitchen eating breakfast.

Delilah: good morning!
Maggie: hey!
Sofia: auntie D!
Delilah: hey sweet girl!

I smile when Sofia runs up to me and gives me a big hug.

Delilah: a little birdie told me that you wanted to see me.
Sofia: mhmm.
Delilah: well, how could I say no to this adorable little face?

I start tickling Sofia, causing to giggle. Hearing her laugh made me smile.

Maggie: want some breakfast?
Delilah: what you got?
Maggie: pancakes.
Sofia: with chocolate chips!
Delilah: chocolate chip pancakes?! Wow, my favourite. I would love some.

Maggie takes Xander from me and I sit down with Sofia and eat with her.

I'm sitting in the living room with Sofia watching TV.

Sofia: auntie D?
Delilah: yes sweetheart?
Sofia: where did my mommies go?

I didn't know what to say. It hurt me keeping all this from Sofia, but I have to do what's best for her.

Delilah: your mommies had to deal with some adult things. You'll understand when you're a bit older.

Then, I get a call from the hospital.

Me- this is Dr. Avery-Shepherd.
Nurse- Dr. Avery, you need to come in. Your patient, Joey Mitchell, fell down some stairs and had a seizure. He needs to get into the OR stat.
Me- what the hell? Uh, okay, I'll be there as fast as I can. Get him into the OR right now and I'll be there soon.
Nurse- right away Dr. Avery.

Delilah: Mags!
Maggie: what's up?
Delilah: do you mind taking care of Xander for a bit? One of my patients fell and had a seizure. I need to get him into the OR.
Maggie: I don't mind. Go, I'll take good care of him.
Delilah: you're an angel. I'll be back.

I kiss Sofia on the forehead then bolt out of the house and to the hospital. When I get there, I throw on my scrubs, rush to the OR, scrub in then walk into the OR where I see Alex and Amy waiting for me.

Delilah: Amy, I can take it from here. Talk to me Alex.
Alex: he was looking for you after his physiotherapy and he ended up having a seizure, causing him to fall down the stairs. CT showed a intraventricular bleed.
Delilah: damn.

My heart drops when his monitors start going off.

Delilah: he's crashing! Push 2 of EPI! Charge the paddles to 150.

I snatch the paddles from the nurse and charge.

Delilah: CLEAR!
