I'm walking with Owen to the meeting to discuss the new policy.
Owen: Emma and I are thinking about getting a new place together.
Delilah: really? That's great!
Owen: do you think it's too soon? Be honest with me.
Delilah: do whatever your heart desires Owen. And who knows? Maybe it'll lead you somewhere good. I mean, I asked Jackson to move in with me and now we're married with twins. What's the worst that could happen? We make it into the lobby and I stand next to Jackson just as Mer comes around the corner and stands next to Cris.
Meredith: what did I miss?
Cristina: Owen and Emma are moving in together.
Delilah: I know, he told me.
Meredith: he holds a meeting for that?I chuckle at Mer as Owen begins. I turn around towards Jackson and lean on him.
Owen: thank you all for coming. I know you're all busy, so this won't take long. The board has just approved a new non-fraternization policy. This hospital has to be a safe work environment where our focus remains clearly on providing the best patient care possible. Moving forward, all relationships with co-workers will be discouraged. All all relationships between superiors and subordinates is strictly prohibited. You will all receive a copy of the new rules. Your supervisors will arrange meetings to go over the details. And that's it, let's get back to work.
Jackson grabs my hand and we walk off together.
-later-
I get a page to the ER so I run down to a trauma room and I find April with a patient.
Delilah: hey.
April: good, you're here. I need your help.I wince when I see the patient.
Delilah: ouch. Yeah, I'll need another set of hands. Good thing I paged Dylan.
April: Dylan?
Delilah: mhmm. Is that a problem April?
April: ... nope.I don't mean to be harsh towards April but she ran away with Dylan on her wedding day. It's kinda crazy.
Dylan: hey, you paged?
Delilah: I need your help here.Dylan and I sit next to each other and start working on the patient's leg. We get told that a friend of the patient was called and we see her come in.
Delilah: please alert the OR that Dr. Hudson and I have a debride leg repair.
Nurse: right away Dr. Avery.
Delilah: thank you.
Pam: God Lisa, I told you not to come to the party. I also told you not to have a secret affair with the head of the sociology department, by the way.
Lisa: I know, I know. You're right. But you know, I wasn't going to go. But then everyone from the department was going, it would have looked strange if I wasn't there.
Pam: really? You don't think getting stuck in his trash chute with a piece of fish in your hair looks more strange than not going to a party?
Lisa: mnh-mnh.
Pam: how did this happen?
Lisa: well, you know, he ignored me all night, which maybe I'm– I'm used to because that's how we are in public. But after a while, I just– I couldn't take it anymore. So, I grabbed my coat and made a break for the door, but just as I was about to leave, he called my name and I stopped because– finally. But all he did was ask if I'd mind throwing out the trash on my way out. And I didn't know what to say, so I-I-I took the bag, the big, smelly trash bag, and I tossed it in the chute. But I was so mortified because I didn't realize I had thrown my purse along with it.
April: so you jumped in after it?
Lisa: oh, I clearly make excellent choices. Does Ted know what happened?
Pam: no. I didn't tell him. I was trying to preserve your dignity.
Lisa: thank you.
Pam: I didn't realize there was nothing left to preserve.
Dylan: well, I certainly can't do anything about your dignity, but if we're gonna preserve this leg, we need to get you right up to the OR.
