You walked the halls in search of the Seer, because of as late he had seemed to be down. Immediately you recalled his fiancé, and how he would say he missed her so. When he said that, he would always smile, and whine with exaggeration in order to not make anyone uncomfortable. But after being out of sight he was sure to weep to his lonely self.

You knew he did, you would be right around the corner, contemplating if you should go aid him... but your feelings for him would always stop you. What if you couldn't control yourself? What if you got carried away, and did things that were unsightly to an engaged man. Because you loved him, you let him cry alone.

But today was different. You were raring to find him, because you knew when he was not with anyone, he was most definitely sulking. And you had promised yourself to never comfort him, because in your eyes you did it out of love. But that was wrong. Yet you searched for him.

You passed the open doors to the lounge, and stopped to see him. You knew so because of the blue bow tied around his head to secure his blindfold. You walked in slowly, you couldn't stand to see him in such a state anymore. It hurt you too much.

"Eli?" You mumbled out and he jumped despite the softness of your voice. "(Y/n)!?" He turned his head away from you and wiped his cheeks before finally turning to you. "Did you need something?" He asked, his voice perfectly well, not a shake to be heard or anything. "Were you crying?" So forward, yet you wanted to hurry up and hold him.

He paused for only a second, before he tilted his head. "N-no I'm fine, I was just sleepy so I rubbed my eyes quickly." He grew nervous at your scrunched up nose and squished eyes, seemingly annoyed with his desperation to be so secretive. "Do you.. miss her?" And for a moment he looked like he was ready to hold his ground, before he sighed and dropped his head. "Yes... maybe a little." He said quietly, and your heart ached.

You quietly shuffled to the Seer, sitting down next to him. "More than a little, I think.." You whispered. He tensed at your words, they were quiet but very sharp. Your hand wavered over him, before you let it rest on his back. "You can miss people Eli, everyone here has someone they love at home." You rubbed circles on his back which he seemed to appreciate. "That's just it (Y/n), she's not just someone, she's my fiancé- and I left her all alone..."

The way he loved her, it hurt, but it also made your heart race. Eli's love... someone out there was receiving it, or well, had received it. What did it feel like to be loved by him? "Everyone in town already looked at her funny, because she picked me, a silly fortune teller, with horrible income, and strange clothes, with an owl who I treat like a person... yet she picked me, and never once complained about the way people looked at us. And I left her to deal with it all alone."

He ran his hands through his hair before grasping it tightly and letting out a strained voice. "I can only imagine- how people are talking about her-! Her fiancé ran off to get money they probably think I ran off with, and (Y/n)-!" His voice cracked and shook as he slowly turned to you and grabbed your shoulders, weeping like a child who lost their mother. "I can see her there- just waiting for me in that horrible town for me to come home! Taking all of that gossip and cruel words- just for me! When she could easily believe them- that I ran off and left her!" He cried and kept away from you, but you pulled him into yourself tightly.

He whispered over and over again, 'I'm coming home I promise' ,in shambles and embarrassment. It was so much, his torn heart and his subtle unknown rejection. "I..." I love you Eli. The words were stuck in throat, you tried pushing them out so hard that you felt your eyes water.

"(Y/n)..." He mumbled out, his wails seemingly ending. "Yes?" He didn't reply, only sat there for a moment before he wrapped his arms around you completely. His tight grasp and shallow breathing that you felt on your neck made your heart pound indescribably fast. What was this?
