"Well you're doing better Eli!" You wrote stuff on your clipboard before looking up. The blindfolded boy said nothing, and you gave a sorrowful look.

He had just been done with the Doctors, meaning they hurt him in some kind of way, weather it was with electric shock or just experimenting, they hurt him.

You stood up and walked over to him on his bed, leaning on him, pity in your heart. "I'm sorry I can't help you. I know I'm selfish, I'm afraid they'll hurt me-..." Your hand went to hold the limp one in his hand before he quickly and roughly grabbed your hand. You flinched nervously but did not scream for the guards. "E-Eli?" You whispered fearfully.

He was quiet but his grip softened on your hand before turning to you. "Oh Miss (Y/n), I'm sorry. I know it's not your fault, I would be scared of those people too." He rose his other hand and clasped your one tightly. "There are bad people in this world Miss (Y/n), but you're not one of them." He smiled at you and you loosened up but guilt still hung on your shoulders. "I'm sorry Eli, I wish I could get you out of here. You've hurt no one." Your unoccupied hand rose to his cheek which he leaned into. He loved your warmth, it made him feel safe even in this cold cell. "Thank you Miss (Y/n), but please don't make assumptions about me. I could change in an instant... I know you know that." As if he was warning you he husked those words, almost with a sadness of making you fear him. "I-!"

"(Y/n)." A deep voice called from behind you and Eli pushed you away harshly, for your own good. Staff was forbidden from being friendly with patients, especially the way you both were holding each other moments ago. "Ah-" You stumbled back before a pair of arms caught you.

"(Y/n)! Are you okay?" You looked up to see your boss. "Dr. Desaulnier! I'm fine!" You scrambled to your feet but it was too late. "You little ingrate, you all think your above us here don't you." The silver haired male walked towards Eli who backed up out of fear as your heart dropped to your stomach. He roughly pulled Eli off of his bed and onto the ground. "Agh-!"

You instantly ran over and placed your arms around your superior, pleading to stop his advances. "Doctor please stop! I got to close it's my fau-!"

"No!" He stopped kicking the boy who held his stomach painfully. "These beings should not even lay a finger on you, they're not better than us, don't forget that! He should know that by know but it's obvious we need to teach him another les-!" His eyes flicked down to your tear filled orbs, glossing under the weak light. "Please..." was all you said.

His features softened as he ignored Eli and crouched down to you. "Forgive me my sweet, I forgot you are not yet used to such acts yet. Don't worry though, it has good intentions, this is the only way they'll learn." He was delicate as if you were a flower. He softly caressed your cheek before walking out of the cell. He would most likely go get the guard which only gave you a few seconds....

"Eli!" You whispered worriedly. You ran to his side and cried shakily. "Are you okay- I'm sorry this is my fault!" He lifted his head, still smiling to you which only made you feel worse. "I'm okay Miss (Y/n), please go before you get punished too." You did what he asked, afraid of him being hurt even more. Patients dying in here was nothing new.

You stood up, and a large man came in and dragged Eli out of the cell and you could only hear a faint 'lectric roo'. You guessed Joseph said to take Eli to the electric room.

"Are you alright dear? I must say I think even just talking to these animals is much to dangerous for you." He held your arms and in your mind couldn't help but say 'you're the animals'. You nodded softly, shaking, but not from fear of being hurt, fear of what Eli would go through.

"I- I think I just n-need a coffee." You stuttered out. He nodded and let you pick up your bag and go. You made your way to the break room and practically chucked your bag onto one of the chairs, running back into the hall. You were determined to make it to Eli, maybe if you got there fast enough you'd-
