"A-am I doing good?" You eagerly leaned over Emily's shoulder to watch her write on a clipboard. "Yes, and don't hover over people." She said and you quickly returned to your reserved form.
Emily had taken you in for assistance in the infirmary, she needed a helping hand today. You were relieved that the day had been pretty smooth sailing, besides Naib who Emily had to end up pestering to accept new wrappings of bandages.
"Mr. Balsa..." She muttered out, her eyes glazing over a clean sheet of paper. "Luca?" You asked, and she hummed, tapping her cheek with her pen. "He should come today, for his migraine medicine and so I can check his head... but he hasn't arrived yet." Her low toned voice was an indication she was mostly talking to herself, and you gave a worried look.
Her eyes flicked up to you and she waved her hand. "He's usually late anyways don't worry. I think he's too wound up in those inventions of his, or he's knocked out cold sleeping." She swayed to the counter and set down her things before she waited a few more minutes.
"Well, I'll be back. I need to give Naib some pain killers to take for tonight. If Luca comes, just tell him to wait for me please." She waved goodbye with a bottle in her hand, before closing the door behind her. You let out a breath of nervousness, having Emily watch you preform medical acts was intimidating. You leaned onto the counter and over the papers for your peers. "Balsa..." Your eyes slowly read the words that Emily had written down.
Headaches, migraines, sore, tired, bad vision...
These things were pretty much written all over the man so you wondered why they were even written down. However you did feel a bit sorrowful for him, having such horrible migraines almost every day of the week sure seemed like a load to take on. "Luca..."
Your whisper was to no one in particular, just your mind voicing your pity. "Yes?"
Your eyes widened as you noticed a presence over your shoulder. You turned your head, and seen Luca smiling back to you. "Luca!" You jumped back and away from his files as if it was his private belongings you were caught snooping in. "I said yes?" Heat rushed to your cheeks at your blatant disregard of your surroundings. "Sorry-! I just- I was talking to myself and-!"
"About me?"
Your hands melted in front of you to your sides before nervously clasping in front of you. "No-! I mean a little- but it was completely normal!" Your eyes were fiery, showing you stood solid on what you just said. However the man just tilted his head and laughed softly. "I'm only playing with you." His gleeful eyes rested on your bashful features before he leaned onto the counter and looked over his own papers. "I'm here for my check up."
His eyes didn't bother to look up to you, since you were the only two people in the room his words could only be directed to you. "Right! Emily asked you to wait for her!" You regained composure quickly and walked up to him. "Really? I was kind of hoping to get this over with." He playfully leaned back with a little smile on his face.
You stood their for a moment before raising your hand. "I could do it?" It was more of a question than an offer, but he didn't seem to mind. "Oh cool." He hopped off the counter and sat on one of the free beds, facing you quietly. "Oh!" You weren't expecting him to accept you just like that when he could have an actual professional aid him. You scurried over to him, and tried to remember the vague notes you seen on the Doctors clip board.
