Ever since your awful confession to Naib, you barely ever crossed paths, more so because you couldn't stand to look at him without feeling embarrassment and guilt. How could you tell him all that in the first place? Only making his heart even more heavy? You had never felt so awful, and you found Naib flocking to Emily for comfort more and more, but you never knew if he told her what happened, she never treated you any differently so you assumed not.

"(Y/n)!" You turned your head to see Eli waving you over as he walked to you, and you stopped your own movement for him to catch up. "Eli, what is it?" He stopped before you and smiled. "Emily's sort of busy with Naib so she can't really make dinner, so would you help me fix it up?" For some reason your brain couldn't help but latch onto the first part of his sentence, but thinking about it made your heart churn with agony, so you immediately walked past him and onwards to the kitchen. "I guess I could, I need to take my mind off things anyway." Eli turned to watch you walk before he caught up to walk beside you. "Take your mind off what exactly?"

He was asking innocently, he didn't know what transpired between you and the mercenary, and the one sided rocky relationship of you and the Doctor. "I, I'm just stressed out about the matches is all.." You said, your eyes falling far from Eli as they could. You weren't sure if you sounded like you were lying, but you hoped not, not to Eli. He was always looking out for everyone, hurting his feelings would make you want to curl up into a ball and die.

"Shouldn't you just take a rest then?" He offered, meaning he wasn't forcing you to make dinner, and you stopped. Maybe you did need rest, maybe if you just let everything settle, you would feel better. "I.." You wondered if Eli found your behavior funny, who would be this anxious about matches?

"Here," He placed an arm around you and his other in front of you holding your arm. "You should lie down, you don't even know what you want." He turned you right back around and walked you to the lounge. You'd say you were afraid to run into the happy couple but you found out they spent most their hours together in the infirmary. Maybe because Emily resided their most of the day so Naib just stuck around....

Your face contorted into cringe, how were they on your mind so much let alone their whereabouts? Was it messing with you that much?

Before you knew it Eli had let the doors behind him click shut and he lead you to the gentle sofa. "Eli, I think I'm okay-" You said softly but he begged to differ. "You look stressed lately, rest, (Y/n)." You stared at him before turning to the couch, unable to refuse him. "Here-!" Before you could sit down he swept by and took your seat. "You can lay your head here." He patted his legs with open hands and your eyes widened before you smiled. "There's like 4 pillows I could've used Eli." He jumped at that seemingly flustered, but before he could bargain you laid down and used his legs as he offered them to you.

He relaxed eventually, and Poppo seemed to also take the chance to rest, nestling her a spot on the couch. You closed your eyes and in all honesty tried to sleep. Eli was right, you looked awful, the inability to sleep was worse than you imagined, you never though you could be affected like this.

You felt Eli's gloved hand trace your bangs out of your eyes and you squished your eyes at the closeness to your sensitive orbs. "Sorry." He said lightly and you hummed. Eli was kind, letting you lay on him like this, how did he know you longed for someone's presence... "(Y/n).." He said softly, and your tired eyes refused to open, but what he said next made them pop open like someone screamed murder. "I seen what happened between you and Naib that day."

Your pupils constricted and you sat up nearly so fast you just barely missed slamming your head against Eli's. He gaped at your actions of suddenly curling your legs to your chest on the opposite side of the couch. "You saw that..?" You asked, almost fearfully as if he would tell the entire manor, hunters included. And before even asking him, that is the conclusion you jumped to. "Oh God- That was so stupid, forget about it please? I wasn't in the right state of mind, I-!"
