Poppo is the name of Eli's owl I've decided to use. A good artist I look up to has called them so, and I like it, so until she receives a confirmed canon name, I will call her Poppo uwu. Also sorry, I know I said I'd try to make the next chapter not Eli but the Joseph one was not finished and I had a spark of inspiration for this one instead so here you go (*'꒳'*)

"C-can we please b-be together!?" Aesop fidgeted as he confessed to you loudly in the garden, mask off and everything. His face was flush and he was a nervous reck. "Aesop..." You uttered softly and dread crossed his features at your quiet tone. "Th-thats okay-! I- I expected you to reject me so I- I-!" He began to tear up awfully to which you smiled at reassuringly, walking up to him.
Your hands reached down to his, which were nervously stuck to his side. "Aesop, I didn't even say no yet~." You cooed warmly, leaning to him happily. "S-so you-!?" You nodded gently and he seemed to let out a breath of relief before hugging you tightly. "Woo~ Nice Nice!" You turned to the entrance of the garden to see Martha cheering along with a few others that seemed to have watched from the shadows.
"You guys are really nosy-!" You shouted flustered, and Aesop only blushed behind you. Yet he was not embarrassed, you had not rejected him. Yes, you loved him. You loved Aesop with your dear heart, but you were blind to the feelings of someone who despite smiling amongst the crowd of your dear friends, was in complete despair at what he had witnessed.
The Seer had seen it all, from the meek boys confessions to your delicate acception of his love. He always thought you'd be everyone's ideal person, it's why he wanted to confess to you soon, but it seemed he was too late. Deep down he could not believe Aesop gained more confidence than himself, but who could he blame? Not the silver haired male, it was not his doing that he could not get you. It was not your fault either, you fell for Aesop, and though Eli didn't want to admit it, he was a good guy. He was caring and sensitive, always wanting the best for you, and was undoubtedly one of the best looking guys here (much to his disappointment). In the end he was just afraid of ruining what you both had together, and that was what caused him to loose you just like that.
"Isn't this sweet Eli?" Fiona said walking up from behind him, and he jumped, as if afraid she could read his thoughts. "Mm, yes. It's very nice." He was such a good actor, and he knew it, cause it worked on you plenty of times. Of course in friendly ways, Eli would often trick you into doing something for him, though you would always find out in the end. It lead to playful roughhousing and heartfelt laughter, which he oh so enjoyed as long as he was with you.
"Alright, but no sleeping together kiddos." Demi said winking very apparently, in fact she exaggerated it quite profusely to everyone's annoyance, yet they still laughed. "I have to go, I'm pretty tired." He said softly to the horned girl, who only nodded wearily, before turning back to the crowd.
So he left, he left you, Aesop, and everyone else. He could not help but think selfishly. Did you really love Aesop? Could it be possible you only accepted because you felt pity for him? You could still... love someone else?
He knew what he was thinking was wrong, that it was sick, and it made him feel guilty, but he couldn't help himself. He loved you to much to simply accept the idea that, you did not love him. He knew, but he forced it in the back of his mind and heart. He could not let it be true, he wouldn't let it be true for as long as he could help, but that was not kind to his feelings.
He opened his door, and only then did he feel the enormous urge to cry, so he did, as quietly as he could the Seer balled out his eyes furiously. It was too much that he was forced to relive himself of his blindfold. "(Y-y/n)- I love you-!" He whispered painfully as he dropped to his bed. He curled himself up, hugging a soft pillow, and cried and cried, making sure no one could hear.
"Hoo"
His eyes slowly drifted up to see his feathered companion, but even she could not help Eli's heart from crumbling. "Poppo... do you think, I'm lovable?" It was a serious question. Poppo gently rubbed her feathers against the boys face and coddled him. It was her way of saying yes, he was lovable, something someone would want in life, but he couldn't help but still feel pain.
"Maybe instead of sending you out there to protect (Y/n), I should of done it myself... maybe then she'd-!" His eyes widened tearfully. He had done what he told himself he wouldn't do. Accept the fact you didn't love him. At least, not like you loved Aesop.
He needed you. He wanted to hold you one last time before it was weird since you're dating Aesop! But- he couldn't, you were both already in a relationship. He could not baby you anymore, or hold you anymore... he was at his breaking point. It was the last resolve and he felt horrible doing it but he needed you.
"I'm sorry (Y/n)- but I need you still, I can't let you go quite yet..." He muttered to himself. Though he wished he could say it to your face, he believed you'd only look at him funny.
He sat on the edge of his bed in a panicked state, wondering if he should go through with his idea. It wasn't right but his greed and desperation got the better of him. It may have been strange but he wanted to be with you one last time before you'd share a bed with the Embalmer, he wanted to sleep with you, even if it was not physically.
"Poppo." He said lowly and she came trotting up cooing to reply. He got on his knees and turned to his owl who stood on the bed. "Please, tonight could you sleep with (Y/n)? And cuddle closely next to her, have her hold you- and- and! Let her love you! So much so that- you wont ever want to leave her side!... please..." He lowered his head onto the sheets in an almost unbearable shame, yet his owl knew him better than anyone, and she cooed softly, rubbing her head against his lowered one. "Thank you." He said, and his voice let the small creature know he was holding back waves tears.
He picked up Poppo, stood, and walked to the window. Looking out of it, he turned his head to the left, you room was a couple doors down and seen your windows open. "Okay, you got this." Yet before letting his friend go, and held the owl to his chest, and uttered many thanks. Now in his hands, the owl spread her wings as he gave her a starting hop. She flew, and he watched her until she made it safely to you room.
Almost running he went back to his bed and grabbed his blindfold. But he hesitated. Was this okay? Even for his broken heart, would this be okay? But he didn't care, his tears only gave him more reason to do so... He quickly tied his blind fold on and laid down on his side, clutching eagerly the pillow he muffled his cries into earlier.
"Hello little owl, are you lost?" He almost bursted out into wails from that. Your heavenly voice, and your shining eyes. A faint hoo could be heard as your hands picked Poppo up gently. "Would you like to stay with me just for tonight?" Eli uncontrollably nodded, wanting to be by your side more than anything, even just for a night. He watched you pick Poppo up and walk to your bed, laying down and getting comfy under the covers. And like he asked, Poppo rubbed into you, ultimately winning you over as your arms went around the small thing. You hugged the owl to your chest which it seemed to like.
He clutched the pillow tighter as he breathed heavily, keeping his loud cry's at bay. It was all he had to represent you, so he would hold it good and tight. "Night night Poppo."
With a delicate kiss to her forehead, you bid Poppo goodnight, and just two doors down you would never know how distraught a certain Seer was as he began to silently cry out his love for you until he would fall into a depressive sleep.
