It was storming pretty bad. Rain poured down hard on the roof, and thunder shook the floor when it rumbled. You weren't gonna lie, you hated storms, they scared you to death. You were currently in your room under your covers, covering your ears. Some people were downstairs having fun with being scared by the loud booming sounds but you were about to loose your soul if this kept up.

You uncovered yourself and sat up in your bed, pressed against the backboard. You had devised a plan to go meet the others down stairs, that way you wouldn't be alone, who cares if they'd laugh at your shocked squeaks. At this point you were desperate for any type of company.

You cautiously made your way out of your bed and to the door. You didn't see any lightning, so, so far you were doing good. You peaked your head out of your door to the stairs. Now was the night you regretted being at almost the end of the hall. You heard chatter finding from downstairs and that was your goal. You made your way out of your room and closed your door. You started shuffling down the hallway, slow but steady. The thunder was smaller than usual so you felt okay and moved a bit quicker.

But when you about made it to the corner of the hall, you seen a quick bright flash of lightning and your eyes widened. Okay, you were gonna book it, but before you could even start running, as soon as you passed the corner you fell on your behind. You had bumped into someone. Who was halting your great escape to civilization??? Your eyes looked up to see Eli who started reaching for you. "Sorry (Y/n)! Are you okay?" You were reaching for his hand before the thunder you had forgotten about boomed outside. Eli didn't seem scared, only surprised. You on the other hand didn't need his hand as you jumped up and ran into him. The closest thing that you felt could protect you. He was obviously surprised at your quick hug as you buried your face into his chest. "(Y-y/n)?"

His hands hovered over you until he finally decided to hug you back. "Were coming downstairs because you were afraid?" You only nodded, and he leaned into you. "Aren't you tired though? You worked really hard in today's match." You didn't answer, but yes you were. You were deathly tired in fact, but the thunder didn't let you rest. He took his hand and lifted your chin to see your face, dark circles very apparent.

His eyes were covered but you seen the slight worry on his face. Eli cupped your face only for you to almost instantly fall asleep in its warmth, but a tiny rumble from the storm shot your eyes right back wide open again. It was all he needed to see before he decided what he would do with you. As his hand left your face, you softly pouted.

Eli took your hand and started to walk you back down the hall. You hoped he wasn't taking you back to your room. You'd only wake up alone again. That was until he stopped at his door. "I was about to head to sleep myself." Unlocking his door, it creaked open and he pulled you in, closing it behind him. "Ah, Eli-?" You realized the situation you had gotten yourself into. He continued to lead you to the bed. He sat down and you stood there in front of him, holding your arms. You seen him pull his hood down and reach behind his head. You hadn't seen him without his blindfold before so you were shocked when he took it off so easily in front of you.

His light blue eyes shifted up to you and you jumped. "We'll go to sleep together." He smiled and it warmed your heart as stood up again, and only then did you note how tall he was than you as his eyes looked down at you. "O-Okay." You might as well. You knew you wouldn't be able to fall asleep on your own. He went to the other side of the bed and pulled up the covers and laid down in them. Only then did you notice his owl fly to a cage by the window. "Are you coming?"

You refocused your attention on Eli. "Ah right! ... are you sure you want to do this? I'm taking up space and you won't be as comfortable." Your hair fell in your face as you worried for his own comfort. He only chuckled before sitting up. "I'll be fine, it's you I'm worried about. Please sleep with me, (Y/n)." He patted the spot next to him. "O-okay." You slowly made your way into the covers and laid next to him. You instantly felt his warmth, and you were already drowsy from it. He laid next to you then, and faced away from you, probably to keep his morals straight or something. "Thank you." You whispered, holding the covers next to your face as you closed your eyes. The warmth he gave off was very nice and the last thing your (E/c) orbs seen was the clock on 10pm. So late, you fell asleep.

Boom!
You're eyes popped open as quick as you sat up. Gods you hated this. Eli must've been one heavy sleeper though, and you were glad. You didn't want to wake him. You took a deep breath before your eyes caught something on the end of the bed board. Eli's owl. It stared at you and tilted its head. "Hello." You made sure to talk soft and low. "Did that scare you awake as well?" You placed out your hands, and the owl instinctively flew into them. Having a little critter in your hands sure was comforting. You gently pet her feathers as she 'hooed' in your hand.

You heard another rumble outside. It wasn't as loud as the one that work you, but still loud enough to startle you. The bird as well, as she jumped into your lap. You placed your arms around her. "It's okay." You laid back down on your side and placed the owl between you and Eli. It seemed to like it there, feeling safe between two people. A flash shined through the window so you knew thunder would soon follow.

In fear you gently grabbed the back of Eli's robe. He slept through that loud thunder, than surely he could sleep through your soft grabs. He did, but only barely awake did he turn around and pull you to him. His warm arms wrapped around you, it made you feel safe. You buried your face into his chest and closed your eyes again. Hopefully you could sleep until morning now.

Your eyes opened to a subtle light that your eyes strained from. You guessed it was morning now, and felt almost ecstatic about it. But when your still tired body tried to get up, only then did you realize you were being kept to someone. This made your eyes widen quickly as you looked up at Eli. You felt your face heat up as you stared at him. His hair was messily framed around his face, and his eyes softly closed, breathing shallow. You knew he was the always the calm one, but he looked so... at peace, you almost felt bad being here.

His strong arms were looped around your waist, locking you in place as your hands pressed against his chest. You actually really liked Eli. Always saving you and taking hits for you. He did so much for you, and you never had anything to give in return. It made you upset with yourself. A hug and 'thank you' could never measure up to what he did for you. The more you thought about it, the more you got sad. He was such a great person, and you... you only got in others ways. Your mind pictured images of all the times he saved you, and you were so fixated on them you didn't notice the boy wake up. "(Y/n)?" He mumbled, still waking up. As he pulled you from your thoughts, you looked up to his eyes. Crystal blue like a new born kitten. You seen his own eyes widen as he sat up. "Why are you crying?" Huh? When he played a hand on your cheek, only then did you realize tears streamed out of your eyes. "I-!" You pulled away and started furiously wiping the salty water away. "I'm sorry, I must be really annoying." You kept an arm over your face as you used the other to push yourself off the bed, on your way to make your exit.

But a tight grip pulled you back as you landed against the soft Seer. You felt him looking at you, but you never uncovered your eyes. "Why were you crying?" You about started balling right there. He was so kind hearted, caring about what made you so distressed. You wanted to leave but the grip on you told you otherwise, so you just told him the truth. "I-... I don't think you should be so nice to me, if I can't repay it. You saved me so many times before, and I've only caused problems for you. I truly am very troublesome." He didn't say anything. Probably in shock of how spoiled you were is what you thought. But all he did was put his arms back around you and leaned back onto the plush covers. You waited and waited for him to say something. The silence was killing you. "El-?" "Shhh." He squeezed to tighter. "You worry to much. Of course you repay me." If he could see your face he'd probably snicker at how perplexed you were. "H-how?" He chuckles and spooned you to his hearts content, happy with you. "You let me protect you. I love you, and don't want to loose you. Giving me the honor of protecting you is huge. Not to mention being in your presence is enough for me." He stuck his nose in your hair, smelling sweet cinnamon.

"I love you. The ultimate repayment would be if you loved me back though." You felt his arms start to loosen and in a desperate moment of feeling as you were about to loose everything, you grabbed his arms from releasing you any further. "I do. I love you very much." You could hear him release a breath he was holding, the tightness of his hug returning. "Okay. Then I'm happy." With that you cuddled together til Emily would come to wake everyone up. You were so warm, so lucky, so cozy. He truly melted your heart in a way no one else could. Love is a powerful thing.
