You worked at an Asylum for a few years now. You had gotten used to the screams, hysterical laughter, and cries of desperation. Your job was to aid in the patients 'repentance'. You were to act as their best friend basically, and give them quick checkups.
You told Dr. Desaulnier of the patients problematic states, and how one of them, Aesop, believed he was the almighty of this Asylum. All he said was that this boy would be killed or locked in a small dark room to teach him a lesson. Your Dr. loved to play god, and sometimes he did it all to often.
However you obliged with his ways, in fear of betrayal. You've seen before, a nurse who didn't agree with his ways, and the next day she had become a patient of the Asylum. All who came to her as she told her side of the story in wails just to leave this place. They would only nod in agreement but they never believed her. She was in an Asylum after all. She was crazy.
Ever since, you've been his most loyal Nurse and Psychiatrist. He gave you a patient who seemed to go none stop with fairytales and other stories he claims would be true. His name was Eli Clark. As written on your file, vague as can be...

Right after the colon of cure, was scratched out. It was possible they thought they had something but it failed. The Doctors here were mostly let go from their previous jobs for being to- violent. You felt a pang in your chest as you wondered what being a patient here felt like.
Nonetheless you never would give up your current place. So on you went with your work, and today was Eli's day. It was weird actually. As stated on the papers, he would never talk of anything but stories, but when you were with him, he would ask how you were and such. You let your thoughts go when you were arriving to his cell. "Hello, Eli." You said cheerfully, giving signal to open the cell to the Guard despite having your own key card. As the rusty bars opened, Eli looked up and smiled. "Miss (y/n)!" He jumped up and you walked in. The cells were not as bad as one would think. They had a bed, a desk and chair, and a window. Though if you were a good patient, you would get rewards like books, paper and pencil, even games like chess. Eli was a very good patient, all from your reports. Only from your reports.
Other reports of him contained things like; Unresponsive, Lost in thought, Won't stop talking... Violent, Uncooperative, yells when in process of experimentation.
Okay those last ones were always made by the Doctors who do forced electronic therapy on him. I wouldn't blame him if he yelled or got violent. Such a thing would hurt very badly, and Eli was always a 'good boy' as you put it yourself. Never once had he acted up with you in his presence.
"How was you day Miss (y/n)?" He asked as the cell door closed behind you. You sat on his hard bed next to him as he awaited your answer eagerly. "It's better now." You Finally replied. He smiled at your sneaky compliment, of how seeing him has lifted your spirits. "That's nice! My day has been well, but it's even better since you're here!" Eli threw his hands into the air. "That's good to hear Eli, may I give you a quick checkup?" He nodded vigorously. He always enjoyed your checkups, maybe because it was you who did them, or it was way less then what the Doctors put him through. You took out your stethoscope and he lifted up his shirt so you could place it on his chest. You didn't know why you had to check him everyday. He was a perfectly healthy boy, but Dr. Desaulnier insisted to have an everyday track of all the patients health.
"A-am I healthy?" He asked worriedly. You asked him to breath in and out, and he obliged. You liked to tease him sometimes and make a shocked face, but today was peaceful and you intended to keep it as such. You smiled and nodded. "As always Eli. You're the healthiest boy I know." You put your stethoscope back into your bag but before you could zip it up, Eli grabbed your arm. "M-Miss (y/n)-! ... May I check your heartbeat?" Your eyes widen. "Uhm, sure." You have him your stethoscope and told him to be careful because even the frailest sound could hurt his ears. He nodded. You sat there nervously, and he looked you up and down. "C-could you-..." Despite a mask over his eyes, you could feel him looking at your chest. It wouldn't hurt him, he's to innocent anyways. But your not. You blushed as you raised your hands. "Oh- yeah, of course." You unbuttoned your shirt just enough for your chest to be visible. You thought he looked a bit irked as he maneuvered around your bra but he seemed to stop instantly. You tilted your head at his sudden halt. "Eli?" His blank face quickly turned into excitement. "I can hear your heart Miss (y/n)!" You smiled wearily at him. "Y-Yes, thats nic-!" Before you could finish, Eli removed the stethoscope and placed his own ear to your chest.
"Eli!" You shouted but refrained from being loud enough to grab any attention. "Ah! I can hear it like this too!" He grabbed your shoulders to bring you closer. "I-i-i-!!!" Before you knew it, he pulled away but took your head to his own chest this time. "Can you hear mine like this too?!" You blushed with your hands up against his chest. "Y-Yes!" He seemed happy, but his hand held your head close and careful, as his other wrapped around your waist. "Miss
(y/n) I love you very much." Oh no. This wasn't aloud at all-! "E-Eli I-." He flipped you over so that your back laid against his sheets and settled on top of you. "Are you scared?" He asked, getting closer to your ear. His whisper sent chills down your spine. If you were being honest, yes. You were terrified. He kissed your ear and led a trail of the sweet sensation down to your neck. "Is it because I'm crazy? And crazy people are dangerous, Miss (y/n)." Your breath hitched, and not just because of his cold statement. He slid his tongue up your neck before giving you a bite. "Y-you're not dangerous..-!" You choked out. He stopped, and raised himself up above you.
"Are you sure?" He cradled you and made sure his legs were heavy on your arms so you wouldn't be able to use them. "When we're let outside to get fresh air and play, I noticed the fence." You looked up at him, not being able to do anything. "The barbs on it. Usually, they're faced outward so no one is allowed in. However, they're facing inwards." Your eyes widened. You never expected him to be so diligent to notice. "Those fences aren't for keeping people out, are they...? They're for keeping people in." He looked out his window breathing a deep sigh, before his hands trailed to his eye mask. He slid it off and looked at you, his bright blue eyes that reflected the moonlight well. "Then keep me in, as long as you can be here with me, I will never want to leave." He bent down to you again before hesitating, his lips just a centimeter over yours.
"Forgive me Miss (y/n)... it seems I got out of control." He slowly got up from you and stepped down onto his floor. You picked yourself up and let your feet dangle off the bed. You were so embarrassed you could only look at the floor, before his hands buttoned up your shirt and helped you stand up. "I'm very sorry again." He said, giving you a quick hug. Eli pushes your bag in your arms and out of his cell after using your key card to open it. After he tossed you the card through the bars, he smiled widely, as if he had switched right back to his childish demeanor. "I'll tell you a story tomorrow!"
