You stood in the kitchen alone, making tea for you and your blonde friend. It was quiet, but that was not unnatural here.

In this game you foolishly decided to join, there was lots of rules, but one stood out to all of you the most.

Do not speak.

It was hard enough to get along with people you didn't know, but to loose the main branch of communication made it even worse. There was such a clash of personality's, it was impossible to sit in one room without getting uncomfortable.

Aesop was cold and acted professionally, as if he was on a higher platform than the rest of you. Victor was also distant, but more timid and kind. Annie was nice as well, seeming she was bursting at the seems to talk sometimes, yet she remained silent. And then there was Ganji. He was distant, cold, and never tried to converse with any of you. Once or twice did you actually sit near him, but it was a rare opportunity.

Most of the time, Aesop would practically stalk Victor and his dog around, meanwhile you were around Annie which you two in turn talked via pencil and paper, her showing you all of the things she's crafted. It wasn't that you were ungrateful of the girls company, but you couldn't help but feel bad for Ganji. You barely seen him, even when it was time to eat did he rarely come down.

As Annie was setting her toys up, you grabbed the notepad before you and began to write, and when the blonde turned to you, you shoved the paper in her face. She took it and read it quietly and then gave you a nervous smile. You had written you'd like to try and converse with Ganji or at least invite him to sit with the both of you. Even Annie was a little weary, but you would use her curiosity of his bat to drag you with her.

He could teach her to play, a new toy for her to enjoy, and she subtly nodded as you both stood up. Pushing in your chairs, you walked with Annie behind you. You were more confident clearly, but still nervous.

As you made your way down the hall, and to a door, you knocked softly and listened. Annie walked behind you to grab your sleeve, which you didn't mind too much, other than she was gripping it ever so harshly. The door opened an inch, and at the sight of you and Annie did the door open entirely.

He could not exactly say 'what', and instead waited for you two to do something. Your eyes widened at the realization of, once again, you could not speak. You turned around to Annie frantically and she jumped at your actions, you signaled for a pencil and paper. The blonde gaped and shook her head violently, meaning she did not bring it. Your jaw dropped and frowned, before turning back to Ganji who watched your little silent movie take place.

It was clear he was thinking about just closing the door, one of his eyebrows cocked and an uneasy expression. You wanted so badly to explain what just went down but you couldn't, and now you couldn't invite him to come with you both... You stood there uncomfortably, before an idea popped in your head. You looked up at the man and slowly extended your hand to him, 'asking' him to take it. He looked down before raising his own hand and waving it 'no' as he stepped out on his own and closed the door behind him.

He would come, but he did not desire to hold your hand. You took your hand back embarrassingly and smiled wearily at him as a thank you before you and Annie looked at each other, walking back yo where you came. You weren't sure if Ganji wanted to genuinely converse or was just being nice, but you didn't want to stare and examine him for any signs of such things.

As you rounded the corner to the dining room, Annie ran over to the table where she left her toys. At the sight of them Ganji seemed enthralled, and followed behind you quietly. With the notepad back, you wrote on it.

'Thank you for coming to play with us.'

He took a moment longer to read it, then raised his hand wearily to take the pen from your hand. It seemed he was thinking harshly about what to say, before shakily beginning to write. It took a moment, but he slid it back and it read 'you're welcome'.
