This is just my take on how the drugs work, cause I liked the idea. It's okay guys, he's not dead, he just hibernated til the match was over 🧍♀️
Your ears rang and your heart jumped at an abnormal pace. Why were you the only person running from monsters here? Isn't that a little unfair!?
Nonetheless you kept trekking on, your eyes turning every which way. Where is that little girl? You'd rather be accompanied by a small child than no one at all, it felt like you were loosing your sanity without seeing another human. You searched high and low, and to be honest it felt like you were going in loops at this point. Every turn, every alley, every building looked the same.
Was I already here? That door looks familiar. Are these footprints mine?...
Footprints? You quickly placed your own foot down next to it. It was way to big to be your own, but still the size of a humans. There was another person here! You quickly followed the steps, frantic to find someone like yourself. Your smile that you didn't even know arrived, grew wider as the prints in the mud looked fresher, but there was a scuffle... and then more of a mess.
You looked up and jumped, the hunter that was chasing you just earlier sprawled out onto the ground. Your heel slipped and you fell back into the mud. The rain tattered on the frail buildings as you stared ahead. Is it dead? It made no sound, no movement, so surely... Well that didn't mean you couldn't take enough caution!
You stood up, and grabbed the axe that laid nearby. You tip toed as quietly as you could with the mud sticking to your shoes. You made way for his head, except it looked pretty much bashed in already. Eugh. Oh well, get it over with. You lifted the axe with all your might and looked down...
Who could've beat him up so badly? You almost... felt bad... Ah no! You shook your head, but closed your eyes tightly. You didn't want to see the axe finish him off.
"help-"
Your eyes popped open at such a strained voice. Help? You lowered the axe and leaned over the monster. "Did you just ask for help?" As horrifying as its bloodied face looked, you looked for a sign of life. Your eyes stared, and miraculously seen one of its own eyes open to peer up at you. "Y-you're alive!" You said relieved, forgetting this thing chased you for practically an hour earlier. But it sat up as fast as it could with a groan, which wasn't very fast, and pushed you back harshly. "Ow-!"
Your back hit the wall and you slid down and looked across from you. "Y- you asked for help-! Just now!" You complained, but as it stood up and made way to grab the axe you cowered back and threw your hands over your head. Nothing came as your eyes were squeezed shut, but that didn't mean you wanted to look.
"Why are you shaking, aren't you the hunter?"
What? You slowly, and cautiously moved your arms from your view and opened your eyes to look up. No, he was definitely the hunter... I mean- look at him! "What are you talking about? I'm the human!" You shouted, and mistakenly moved forward in defense of your humanity. But he roared at you instead.
"Hey!" You said turning back around, his shadow looming over you.
"I told you if you move I'll kill you! Even if I'm all battered up I'm not gonna stop fighting for my life.."
What was this thing on?! He never gave you not one warning! "You're crazy!" You said, but still kept to the wet wall in front of you. "I don't understand all that moaning, hunter. But since you aren't attacking me I won't kill you." Moaning? "I- Im speaking perfect English!" He must've heard the sass in your voice, because he was silent before letting out a strained chuckle. "What's with the cheekiness? I can't understand you but I sure can hear your tone of voice."
